Upgrading
hey guys, im thinking of upgrading my TL-P to the TL-S... ive only had my car for about 3months and i really love it... only downside is that i wanted to get the blue (but only the S has it), with a little more engine power and the stiffer suspension... plus stock 17s wud be nicer than the 16s i have now...
do u think the dealers wud let me trade my car in and let me pay the difference?

Wait Wait.. tell me if its fully loaded and if its 2003? I entered in Private Party with 3750 Miles for a 2002 TL-P w/o Nav and the price was $27,795.
At most a fully loaded TL-P w/o Nav costs $33-34k so I would say that u are losing about $5-6 Grand if the car is fully loaded..
If You have Stock Body Kits You will lose about $4-5 Grand and if you dont have body kit you will lose $3-4 Grand and like I said if its Totally Fully Loaded Than you will be Losing $5k-6
And I would Sell Private Party and than go to Acura and but the TL-S Because if you trade in you will get like $25-26k thats like a $2000 Diff.. BIG Deal and you will lose lots more money.. If You want to change it do it fast before the new remodeled 2004 TL Comes out..

SO I would say you will for sure lose $4-5k No Matter what you do.. unless you find a newbie in cars LOL .. What is it that you want the TYPE-S So Badly? First you will lose $4-5k than you will have to add $1k-2k to get the Type S so all in all you will lose lots of money for the same exact car except for the Engine..
Do you just want 35 HP MORE? for like $5-7k?
You could get a supercharger for cheaper than that and get tons of mods on the car and have it looking better than a Stock TYPE-S
JUST MY 2 CENTS
CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG..

faster, i get the blue color that i wanted in the car, bigger rims than the TL-P (wud save me in spending money on new rims, i cud get tires first and then go for rims later), torque sensitive steering vs the speed sensitive on the TL-P, the grippier leather (i like the headrest too), titanium gauge... oh yeah and of course, the Type S badge

the whole decision making process ur going through just seems illogical.....u didn't get the type-S cuz u wanted to save 2-3k but ur willing to drop 6-7k now on the upgrade.....all for extra 35 horses, rims, and some random stuff.....you know...its more than illogical....its just plain dumb.....why don't u take that 6k and go out and upgrade ur TL urself....u could do so much with it and actually have it faster and better looking than the stock type S...or better yet if ur so keen on getting everything stock from acura wait and see wut the 2004 TL-S looks like and has before u go upgrading to the 2003 model and be regretting everything again in a few months.

Ya Wait for the 2004 TL it will have many options that mercedes has, over 260 HP and will be totally redesigned.. if you spend $5k now you can do the same for the 2004 TL..

I dont know where your getting your tl, but according to your pices my Type-S w/navi should have been about $39k, I paid less that your low price for a TL-p non navi. Hey you want to buy my car , real nice i'll let ya have it for $33k (j/k)
As for this guy who wants a type-s for the color, r u serious? Get a custom paint job slappy. If yoru ready to do all this for a blue car just get it blue. You can even get the same paint acura uses if u want. I wanted gold, but I wanted the type-s more, its all about a little sacrifice and customization, no car comes off the lot perfect for me at least. You just have to make it what you want or deal, or I guess you can take a $8k cut in the wallet.
Didnt mean to come across as a prick, but I am one sorry

at the time i thought the type S wud have ended up costing me 3grand more than i had at the time... thats why i didnt go for it. as for the color , i figure if im gettin the Type S... might as well get the BLUE... its not for just one reason that i want the S... its the whole package so dont assume its stupid to get the car for a color... cuz if u think that, then id like to see u roll around in pink and be like "it dont matter bout the color"
