The Unichip Is Ready!

Go to the page 11, near the bottom. It's in and running, and available. I'm just a messanger, not the new owner of the first unichip in a 5AT.

0-60 doesn't tell much.

You want to know the 1/4 time.

This thing will be awesome once tuned and could push some of us into the low 14's @ 98-99mph! I bet the guys in the CLSs running low 14s will be able to get into the 13s with this thing.

Yeah I would be interested in seeing the 1/4 mile times as well. Also, this doesnt replace your current ECU chip from what I c, its just a piggy back unit. Makes it easily removable when going in for warranty claims...haha.. but I dont know how good that is!

Sorry my mistake on the 5 and 4 speeds, but can anyone explain how to read this dam dyno report. I mean how much HP gains will we get?

First forget the bottom two lines as they don't really apply. Looking at the top two curves, the lower one is w/o, and the upper one is with. The gains are the space inbetween. The verticle axis on the left shows the HP scale, the horizontal axis along the bootom is RPM. Look along the bottom at 6400 rpm and follow the line up to the top of the hill, at that point follow the horizontal line to the left and find the HP. So your peak HP gain is about 15 HP at 6400 PPM. Clear as mud?

There are gains at every RPM. With headers , your gains are only at the very top. The Unichip is a much better value then headers from that stand point.

In the grand scheme of things, Desi. it is showing a solid 5-7hp gain across the entire span. The 15hp is peak, but that is a pretty fat span with more than 10hp gains in the upper rpm's...

The CAI's from Injen and AEM really aren't giving you consistent hp before getting into the high rpm range (Icebox is much better because of a broader spread), and further, this is true, dyno'd hp on a specific car, specific set-up. If you look at a CAI as a peak hp power-adder of about 10-12hp for $250, exhaust at $700 for 1 or 2hp, $750 for broader gains sounds pretty good d@mn good to me.

Remember, this isn't changing vtec points or other desirable features at this point...Short of FI, this looks like a great option.

Its got to be plug & play otherwise its no dice for me. Im not hardwiring anything to my ECU. If it is P&P andis around $700, I will be interested. From what I understand, the more interest there is, the more likely they will be to produce a harness, so I hope this goes through.

I'm not so sure we want to change the Vtec. I've had the Si tuned with Hondata by two different, very experienced, high end, tuners out of Detroit, and when asked about changing the vtec, they both said right away, don't touch it, it's good right where it is. Maybe the TL-S is different, but as long as I'm on the hot lobe after a WOT redline shift, is all good.

I'm very interested if it's P&P and around $700. I want to be able to pull it if necessary. Thanks for the info!
