Uneven Mufflers...

When I recently put new tips on my stock mufflers I really noticed the driver's side muffler hangs a little lower than the passenger's side. I don't know if any of you guys noticed this on your cars (I understand it's typical of 2nd gen TLs) but it was driving me nuts! Sorry that I borrowed this Comptech pic but you can see what I mean...

I decided to replace the rubber hangers on the driver's side with slightly shorter ones and it's much better.

You see the two holes where the rods fit in? The old rubber hangers were a little over 2" apart, these new ones were just about 1 1/2" apart so they hold up the muffler a little higher.
They only cost $4 each and took about 5 min. to replace (there's one on either end of the muffler body). A simple and quick fix.

Maybe it's not perfect, but it's a lot better looking than before!

We installed ALOT of Comptech mufflers when I used to work, and every one of 'em hung like this. We went so far as to replace a set twice on one car, who's owner was extremely anal. Never did look any better.

Some people also suggest using hose clamps along with the stock rubber hangers to adjust the height.

Well I had the opposite side (passenger) hanging about 2 inches lower. I only had axel-back, so I just decided to go all out and get a custom Y-pipe since my stock one had a little bend in it causing it to hang. Couldn't be happier.
