undercarriage lights

anyone ever do this? it is an easy/ cheap mod (about 130) and it turns alot of heads. The only problem is that on my friend's lancer, he said once when he was going down a steep driveway it cracked the front one and my other bud said the extreme rain messed up his. Is there any way to avoid these? ie install metal mesh grill to protect lights and use heavy duty wires to prevent shortouts? also do u think i need to use a cap (capacitor) to regulate the power use, cause i u got the HID's,foglights, nav, stereo, ac etc running.. adding the undercarriage might be a lil too much.. also

where should i put the button? should i have one for each side? down under the cruise button, where there is that interior light dimmer, to the right of it is a blank.. what is that for and should i put the undercarriage light button there? then i can only have one button.. problem with the tl with navi is that there is no good place to but extra buttons..

thanks in advance.. sorry for the long post but i like being specific

I've got an idea. You should buy them, and then put them in your basement and never install them. They look best like that.

Sounds like you're talking about Neon. I'd say that about 98% of the people on this site will advise against putting those on a TL. Civic, Accord, Neon, etc... fine.... but not a TL.

My opinion is that unless you use your TL as a show car I wouldn't do it. You need stuff like that for shows... but not for your "regular" TL. Save the $130 and buy something else....

Dude, your not serious about this are you? Your friend's Lancer is already having problems and I'm sure those lights or whatever looks nice on his car, but don't do it if you have a TL. That's just plain wrong. Your just asking for people to flame you here and cops to cite you. Save your $130 and get something that works like an air filter or springs.

From: Miami - just one day, I would like to drive without getting cut off!
You probably won't get alot of technical help with a mod like that on here. IMO the users of this site tend to want add more performance or luxury to their TL's vice that type of cosmetic mod. That mod would be considered "ricey" , which seems to be a no-no here.
