Ughhh hit and run...

So I went to go rent some movies and I come out and I see damage on my rear bumper... How much do you guys think it will cost to fix the damage? I'm not going through insurance because I have a 500 deductable and I know it should cost less to fix it...

Maybe some body work, if not another rear bumper, and then paint. Price Rajca put is fair and about right.

cant do body work on plastic for sure, so another bumper is a must

new bumper = 300 + 200-250 in paint is my guess

that was saying if the plastic was physically damaged.. but if you would like to share how to do body work on a plastic bumper, do so please.

and the price for the bumper was based on the dealer. paint was based on price i got. reading about body and paint prices is just stupid, every place is different. which is why the op asked for OPINIONS.. not washed up painters who correct guessed numbers...

so please, find another day job other then hunting down my post and trying to make sense of your useless words against them. i could really care less if you disagree with everything i say.

and my post average is at 3* per day i believe? but sure. i'll back it down to 1.99 if thats the post whore threshhold

it was more so concerning like grooves or waves in the bumper of the OP's bumper. if it had taken that hard of a lick.. waves or grooves in the plastic would always be there. not necessarily holes

but, never heard of somebody filling holes either aside from plate holder ones, so its a first for me.

i never corrected your guessed number's. i could see it was a guessed estimate.

i was making a point about your "not being able to do bodywork on plastic for sure"

im just saying, don't make statements when its clear you don't know what your talking about, its also clear i am not the only person who feels this way.

...i don't care what you think of me, or my job. keep getting your stuff painted at macco.

you also have never seen, or actually fixed grooves or waves in a plastic bumper...its pretty commonly done.

yup...your wrong again.

seriously.. please dont try to e-bully me
and to think anyone here would try to tell me what to say or think. just amazing. i respect you and what you do to your car. but lol at your attempt to parent my forum discussion.

i dont claim to know anything i dont. but i'll put my in whenever and however i want. turn this into something so childish. it was just a stupid little bickering thing untill you decided to try and play daddy. now its just stupid. have fun with authority in this thread.

ill just let it be a that.

and grip... show me, and i'll say i was wrong.. because its not that big of a deal to me as it is to you apparently.. but show me and you'll get a bow from me, i think that a body shop even attempting to fix waves or dents in plastic is BS.. but again.. im not jesus in the painting world like you. and could be wrong.

nothing wrong with correcting me. i appreciate any help i get on these forums. but when people try to monitor what i can and cant put my into is just over the top.

like i said, i didnt claim to be anything im not. im no guru, but i dont need to be babysat, im old enough to speak my mind and make mistakes if that happens. thats all i want out of a forum. some people love correcting others but theres a line when comes to correcting and helping people or having nothing else to do in life but try to belittle somebody by pushing there knowledge on somebody else in a bossy "im better than you" attitude. just makes them look rediculous. i dont care what im not an expert on as long as i can get done what i need to.

sorry OP for all this... i hope you find a better quote then we can provide. shopping around is always best.

its funny how you don't care that your trying to spread the wrong information online, and all you can say is "its not that big of a deal to me as it is to you apparently"

use your head man. don't try to spread the wrong info, it does not help anyone..plus it makes you look stupid, and that's not good.. especially when you try so hard to look cool.

btw, its funny how you do not even realize that im making fun of you, and you put my quote in your sig....your just pointing out that your painted engine cover, 3A tips, vinyl roof sticker, and your oem replacement K&N filter can all be had at pepboys.

you remind me of someone else on these forum's.

yes, now everybody on this website with a scraped up bumper is goin to buy a new one because of me. their not that simple minded.. people can make decisions for themselves i assure you

also, ok so half of the forum is filled with pep boy cars because we have exhaust tips, k & n filters and painted engine covers... you gotta realize how dumb that sounds.. your trying to point out something about me that is a widespread thing. just leave it alone. your not making any sense.. your beating my roof vinyl to death also.. your the ONLY person who gives 2 shits about it. and it doesnt require your approval. i dont get why you think it should...

and im aware of your attempt to make fun of my car, when really, its not much different from anyone else in here.. so please explain why all of our cars are a laughing matter.. i happen to think theres nothing wrong with it. get over it?

i am getting a feeling that kris is gonna send some ppl a pm.

yes some times its cheaper to buy a new bumper than to fix the old one. its mostly about how badly it looks and what the shop feels like quoting you.

you still don't seem to get the point of any of this, ill make it clear for you.

IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT, DO NOT SPREAD THE WRONG INFORMATION.

i understood you guessed/tried to quote somthing...thats cool man. thats not where i had a problem, and ive made that clear.

and im done talking about the crap on your car...i really dont care.

if you quote that, and ramble on about some lame crap....i will know your seriously retarded.
