Never even thought about it..... I don't lean my head back on it very often. I guess if I were to compare quality of sleep when I camp out in the 2 cars, you would be right on the money!

Trip off this one: take off the headrests, move the seats forward then lay the backs all the way down... great for the late night B-call, just pop in the dvd and sit back in your twin Lay-Z-Boy.

yea the tl-p headrests are more comfortable, its b/c its the prem. ed. the S is the "sports" edition so the seats are supposed to be more sporty i guess.

Logic, I have an '03, but my headrests don't adjust fwd/bck???
The backseat is comfy as hell, even the passenger seat. I finally handed the keys over to my lady this summer(after two years of only ME driving) and the front pass seat was very comfy!!! I then visited my parents and let my Dad drive with my Mom in the front, so I had an opportunity to sit in the back. It felt like I was being chouffered around!

IMO the Type-S headrests are nice looking but not much help especially if adding comfort to driving, etc.. I agree that the TL-P headrests work much better. I was impressed with the 3rd Gen headrests tho.. They are way more functional than the 2nd Gen and they tilt too...
This small bonus makes the driving experience much better.

It might technically be "head restraint", but it's very common to say headrest. I don't know about you, but I sure rest my head on the thing a lot more than it "restrains" my head. No accidents yet for me, and until I get into an accident where it actually "restrains" my head, I'll continue calling the damned things "headrests".

I know what you mean. My issue is not with people wanting them to look better, or calling them 'head rests'.
My issue is that people are talking about which is more comfortable. If you are pulling over for a nap, that's one thing, but to rest your head on it while you drive is not smart.
They are there for a reason, and that reason is not to help you relax while you are driving.
Got an issue with that?

I drive with my seat set as far upright as it goes, which I'm guessing most people don't do. I do this because it keeps me sitting up and alert and i feel like i'm more in control. So yeah, my head is always against the headrest and the comfort makes a huge difference to me.

Quoting Intellichoice.com this is on their website:
"Head Restraints
These are popularly known as "head rests," a terrible misnomer. Their purpose is not to give your head a place to rest, but to prevent it from snapping back sharply in a rear-end collision. Light trucks must have front-seat head restraints; though they're not mandatory, look for them on other seats as well. If a head restraint is adjustable, it should be adjusted high enough (about ear level) and far enough forward to touch the occupant's head, not his or her neck. Saab and Volvo are also offering a "whiplash protection system" that allows the seat back and head restraint to automatically shift rearward during a rear-end collision, thus absorbing some of the force and protecting the occupants from neck injury.
