Well to give you an idea of price, I had a guy price out doing the fake dipped carbon fiber, like what Tim did to his wood trim and the cost was going to be over $300. For fake carbon fiber. I'd say double at least for the real stuff.

this man is good with his numbers! so will you all be disappointed??? if there is enough demand and he can do a big initial production, then the price should be better. unfortunately, nothing set right now since he knows this is the BIGGEST issue.

as of right now, there is only this one piece in existence for both type s cars and there is also a 2000-2001 tl cover (not sure if this fits pre type s cl cars). the 99 tl version will probably not be made (just found out honda made 2 different covers for the early 2nd gens, molds aren't cheap!), and the 6th gen accord v6 covers are in the making. i have had it on my car for about 2 weeks and it's holding up without incident...he even tested the cover in a baking oven (like for carbon fiber hoods).

Don't make the mold just yet. From what I read about the "RES" that's supposed to come out soon, the stock cover wont fit with that. Just a head's up before you spend a lot on something like that.

if the RES mod does not require a new cover, then the current mold should work (or just tinkered with). however, there seems to be room now if the RES cover is only slightly thicker.

plus do you think the RES will ever come out?!?!

I'll pay that amount but it has to say what I want it to on the section where it has the OE tunning. Is that possible? What is the writting made out of. Is it part of the cover or a sticker?

Can you find out if the manufacture will take an order if we can pre-sale like 25-50 units. I would be willing to leave a deposit to help out if we could make a of deal on a group rate.

I have a 2003 TL-P, will that cover fit thenon-Type-S engine, or is the cover Type-S specific?

As far as the sticker, see if they can just palce it aside as an option for the end user, I would make my own sticker to read something like: 3.2 VTEC

Thanks,

The RES DOES NOT require new cover. It just replaces the top part with 6 bolts.

there is a cf cover for the premium models. personally i have never seen a 2002+ tl-p engine bay...does the cover look like the 2000 model? if so, then the mold has already been made.

as for the company logo, i can find out the options (if any).

Okay great, can you forward the price and contact for the TL-P CF cover.

And, can anyone answer why the covers are different on the TL-P vs. the Type-S?

Thanks

type s cover is slightly taller in profile than the tl-p cover as well as having a different sized intake cover (type s has dual inlets, different design). you can compare your cover to that of the pix. the current tl-p cover is the demo so he can't sell that...if anything, you can get one made.

i'll take a pic of it tonight.

Stan,

Thanks for the continual updates, I really apreciated it.

I looked at the pictures in the link you submitted today (which I thought was the TL-P cover) but they look "exactly" like the pictures you originally submitted on this post a few days ago (which I thought was the Type-S cover).

I hate to say it, but I'm confused. Is the car in the pictures a Type-S or a TL-P?

If you read through the threads listed in this postings, it states both: you "can get " and you "can't get" the Carbon Fiber cover for the 2003 TL-P?

I will wait for the final information as you stated.

ON the third page is the cover for 03 TL-P which is same as 2000-01 and 2002 TLP. He is just missing the other peice that you see one the TLS cover on the first page. Look at the center cut out and you will see the obvious difference. The other difference is the TL S cover is higher/ taller.

02-03 TLP 00-01 TL

sorry if i was not clear, but that one link contains pix of both the premium and type s covers. thansk to nighthawkblack! there are two demo covers, one for each car, so these are not for sale and will continue to be used for display. if you want one, you can buy one eventually.

the company is still trying to get their site up and organize things before they proceed. they are considering moving their logos to a less conspicuous location since everyone seems to like it that way. they are deciding about offering custom logos. with the addition of the accord v6 cover (2000+ models), there will be 3 types of covers so getting a good price will not a concern...that info to come as well.

thanks for hanging in there!

it's on hold due to some issues such as price and volume. so for now, i guess there are only 3 covers in existence...type s, premium, and 6th gen accord.

first of all that is tight! I thought about either CF or chrome mine. I'm glad you did it, now I know how it looks. But I was thinking about a blue CF. Does your contact work with different colored CF. I've seen a red CF dash in a showcar. So I'm sure it exists. Thanks,

i'm glad you like...it is really nice! the company is still looking for ways to make this product more cost effective so that pricing won't be too killer. i'll post if and when i find out more info.

Maybe they can make a mold with the Comptech SC in mind so that we dont have to cut the engine cover. Would they do something like that?

company would need a donor piece modified to fit first and that means we need someone that has the SC. asked about CF for other engine parts but complexity and curves means more man hours so it can be pretty expensive for a small part like the battery cover.
