What's up guys, I was just curious about ur guys opinions about ur Tl's. Do you rather have people say, "damn that's a nice looking car!!!" or would you rather make them hear the car... Hope that makes sense...

Basically,

Would you rather turn people heads from the sound of the Exhaust,CAI,Intake, maybe turbo. Or would you rather have people turn and look at ur rims, kit, spoiler, etc..

What's more important? (yes having both would be awesome, But if u could only pick one)

both for me seeing as tho im done with all bolt ons and all i need for my looks is rims now...but i cant tell why i turn heads...i thnk its the looks and when i gas it its the sound...id rather have sound

lol i was enjoying my new TL today unitl i pulled up next to a brand new M5 at a light.. dam that car is just amazing.

for me the TL is about looks and comfort mostly.. ive been hooking up and racing hondas for 7 years now.. gutted interiors, loud or no exhausts, stiff suspension, no ac, no power windows or steering, etc etc.. that was my time for performance, now its time to chill.. maybe do some bolt ons eventually but im not looking to really be racing the car or anyhting..

looks are important, but if you don't have any power, its wasted. SOme cheap things to do to make the TL look good would be to get it detailed using Zaino and make it look good, clear the lights, tint the windows, debadge and if you have the money, rims and a bodykit. If you want cheap performance, look at the CAI and some headers, pullies and maybe an exaust. Just pick and choose from many of these possiblities. I would go for looks first, then get the power done slowly by slowly. But i would recommend getting at least a CAI so you can beat another 2nd gen TL

i only cared about looks.. The only performance mods i have is intake(60 bucks no name brand)- and that was jus to hear VTEC.lol...and i got an exaust because i bought it from fiftyfive at a cheap price and looks nice wit the kit

I most def say looks first. Appearance is key. Not everyone is trying to race, especially with the price of gas right now. Plus, if you look good, cruising at low speeds turn more heads cause they get a longer chance to peep your ride.

The only attention I prefer is from people who know cars. That is, they should be able to look at my car and know what it is even though it only has the 'A' emblem in the grill and on the trunk. AND, they should be able to tell it's a Type S by the seats and/or headrests.

everyone says both are important and thats the obv answer but since the OP asked to choose one..... id say looks since our TL's are quick for what they are... but they are not all out sports cars... (plus im just hatin cuz im still stock performance wise :-P) haha

^^very true... i get tons of compliments from people sayin that i have a hot car and a really nice color and questions like "when are you sellin me your car" come up haha....i even get compliments from the ladies "i like/love your car" and "oh your car has that map thing thats awesome" (<----navi) hahahaha...... way more love than i got with my maxima :-P

I get A LOT of compliments on my TL-S and all it has is an OEM kit, spoiler, and exhaust tips. I want to tint the windows and MAYBE put some 3G aspec rims on it.

As far as performance, I removed the intake resonator. I might put a CAI on in the future but I don't see this car as a race car. ITs very comfortable and quiet yet still very quick.

well seeing as how you asked for one and not the other, for me this is the way i mod my cars.
1. Stereo
2. Looks( rims and drop)
3. performance

but at the same time you can do a CAI and Headers for like $200 or so, and the performance on a tl is very nice considering that you are driving a 4 door family grocery getter!!!!! plus look at how much to get the kit and painted plus install.

For a 2nd gen TL, it blends in so much w/ all the other cars. So if you have it dropped w/ a kit and tint, it's going to stand out quite a bit. But having one that sounds good makes it stand out even more. So I'd say both.
