Trunk Relay for Clifford?

I have a Clifford Matrix 2 alarm and by process of elimination it appears that I need a new trunk relay for my alarm.

I have a new remote that works, but the trunk release doesnt and the Factory remotes still open the trunk.

Im not too shabby with electronics and installing some things. Im wondering if anyone knows how or where I can get a new relay and just siwtch them out. i called Clifford and they directed me to 2 dealers in my area. Which would be fine if they didnt want to charge me a million dollars to do something very simple.

If there is a display diagram that I could view somewhere and is this switch specific to clifford? can i just go into an elctronic store and get another one to replace the one I already have?

just grab a relay from anywhere. shouldnt be more than 10 bucks. best buy sells them for 9.99

you need to convert the (-) to a (+) signal from the clifford system to allow the trunk to pop. this is where the relay comes to play. youll need to grab the trunk pop wire from the clifford unit, im not familiar with clifford, but my guess would be a red w/ white wire, but double check the manual <- look online if you dont have the manual.

the only leads that you are going to be using is your 85 and 86 coil, your 30 and 87 wires

85 - (-) trunk pop wire from clifford untit

86 - (+) a 12v constant source.

30 - (+) preferably the same 12v source as your 86 input. you can grab this at the ignition harness or even the radio if need be, but the best bet would be the ignition harness, throw a fuse on for precaution. 10 amps should be fine.

87 - run this to your trunk pop input wire in the car should be a white w/ red striped behind the glove box on the passenger side.

if your not comfortable with this please take it somewhere else. best buy shouldn't charge you more than 29.99 for the labor and 9.99 for the relay. and this shouldnt take more than 30 minutes, finding the trunk input wire is the hardest part.
