Is it true that Tinting creates issues for the Radio???
I am sure that this discussion must have taken place before but I m too lazy to dig through the forum. I m planning to get my car tinted and would like to know what kind of tinting is the best since 03 TL3.2 has Radio antenna in the rear glass. Is the 3M Carbon tints good? That is non-metallic and won't interfere with the Radio. What have you guys done to get tinted and not affect the Radio?

As long as you don't use metallic meterial to tint the rear wind shield, the radio will work just fine. According to the tint guy that did the work on my TLS, the metallic will only effect AM frequency; so the FM should still work but I went with the 3M Carbon anyway and so far I still can hear the traffic and news on AM every morning.

I have LLumar metallic all the way around. My FM reception is as great as it ever was, but DrCookie makes an interesting point about AM...I think he may be on to something since my AM reception does kind of stink. But that could also be a byproduct of living in the boonies, which I am right now.
My main worry when I got the tint was Navi reception. No problems there whatsoever.

The real point of AM is that you can catch it even in the boonies. The signal travels farther. I think no matter what AM does though, it will never sound as good as AM. I'm not sure if I've got metallic tint or not, but I haven't noticed any problems.
