Transmission and NHTSA

Hey all,

I see a lot of people complain about their transmissions, but when I look at the NHTSA web site for complaints there are only << 26 >> complaints in 2001, << 32 >> in 2002 and << 9 >> in 2003 listed. This is probably why NHTSA is not looking into Acura a little more vigorously.. I bet if we all put in a complaint, ( legitimate complaints, we probably need service records to prove our claim(s), not saying people are lying, but will be a good reference tool saying that were serious about this crap ) then maybe NHTSA will go at Acura a little harder to resolve this issue once and for all... Or have the transmission and all its components covered for a lifetime.

Here is the link below to write up a complaint..

http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/pr...in/results.cfm

I know that we can make this happen, so let's go...

Please post your reply after your done with the complaint..

The NHTSA closed the case on the '01-'02 Transmissions, there is a full write-up, if you aren't already aware, at www.acura-cl.com

Read that forum as stated by PeterUbers..... A post by Ken347 called Scott at NHTSA and Scott stated,"There were no compelling safety issues that required further action at this time. The initial conclusion is that a quality issue underlies the complaints, but that there was not enough evidence to push the investigation to the next phase."

Personally, I believe that the reason why the case was closed was because there were a total of 67 complaints from 2001-2003 with acura transmissions...

I think that there are more than 67 people that are having trans problems with their acura's!

We must not let this dye.. NHTSA works for the people, so let's re-open this crap..
