Trans Slipping

Hey Gang,

I was trying to search for the definition of "Trans Slipping", but didn't find a definitive answer on this one...

Was wondering how others interpret transmission slipping.

Thanks,

I guess there could be different manifestations of a slipping transmission:

1) You're applying power and the car does not respond (the engine is revving yet you're not moving/accelerating appropriately).

2) Shifts are delayed; the trans seems to get hung up when it's trying to shift.

This is my best attempt at your question, I'm sure the experts will correct me...
