TRANNY question

I have just bought an 02 TL-S with 59k running on its original transmission. Even after having read SEVERAL* posts concerning tranny failures, i still decided to get a certified TL-S. I love the car, and aside from its one major problem, its a great vehicle.
However, its mechanical flaw is a big concern for all who own a 2G TL. Warranty or not, it is still a hassle to have to keep replacing the transmission, esp. for those without a warranty.
After reading a post, i came across a stat that said the acura had approx. 2% of the 2G cars with a flawed transmission. But after reading many posts from the depressing tranny failure club, it seems that a lot more ppl are having problems. 2% seems a bit small when reading all the posts about the failing trannies. Lets say for example it was a bit more than 2%, perhaps 5-8%, where are all the ppl who dont have tranny problems. It seems like almost everyone, has one time or another had to replace their transmission. Now my question is (as stupid as it may sound), where have all the good trannies gone?

P.S. I know this is not a very original thread, but I just want to hear some good stories from people who are still running on OEM transmissions, whether their car is stock or modded. Its just for my peace of mind.
