Unhappy Tranny failure???

OK, I've been reading a lot about these tranny failures lately and they scare the crap outta me. I have a 2003 TL-S but my mom drives it during the week as I don't wanna get it keyed in the high school parking lot. I was just wondering whether this tranny failure affects the '03 line of TL's. It seems most people who are complainin about the lock-up ordeals own 2002's or older. So, i was just wonderin whether 2003's are known to be faulty. i don't want somethin to happen to my mom while she's in teh car although she doesn't drive that fast. oh yea, and about driving habits. my mom drives the car like a baby cuz she's a 40+ year old woman and she drives it five days a week. however, i get the car on teh weekends and most of the time i drive the first and second gears into the 5000 rpm range. considering that the redline is at 6900, will i be expecting problems? keep in mind that the intense driving habits only occur about 2 days a week. any input will be sincerely appreciated.

ok ..... so basically to summerize your issue: Your Mom has a 2003 TL-S and she let's you drive it twice a week ..... Now that we've straightened that out simply call your Acura dealer and they will be more than glad to tell you if her car is included in the extended tranny warranty.
Good luck!

Well, first of all driving style has nothing to do with the failures... so that's really irrelivant.

Otherwise, I'd follow Yaron's advise and give your dealer a call. Only SOME 2003 models are effected. I'm sure if you call your dealer and give them your VIN # they'll be able to let you know if your car is affected or not.....

Talking My mom's car

I guess you could say that it's my mom's car, but if it were't for me, my conservative chinese family would never have considered purchasing such a "sporty" sedan.
