Question Tranny Change with Fluid Evac

Anyone know if there is a problem using the fluid evac/pump to drain the tranny fluid?

I know it will only drain about 3 qts but its much easier than the traditional drain.

Also, how long should I wait in between flushes for the triple flush?

Thanks.

DO NOT USE SUCTION PUMP
Do ONLY the manual drain and fill
Its 1 bolt!
warm car driving 5 minutes- much longer and its a scorcher under there
Put on ramps
Drain 3 qts, add 3 new
drive 5 minutes
drain 3 add 3 repeat as needed- at least 3 times- total cap is 10 qts so do the best you can! A 12 qts flush would be ideal
The idea is to push out the old fluid- not mix new and old adding a little new here and there
once a week

But why wouldn't I be able to use the suction? Doesn't it suck from the same place the plug would drain from? I understand its only 1 bolt but its one more than I would need to do if I just used the suction unit. Just asking. Thanks.

So, are you talking about an actual evac pump that you will simply insert into the fill plug to suck out the fluid? If so, I don't see a problem. I thought you were talking about the good ole "tranny flush" machine, which is not recommended.

What kind of suction machine are you talking about? You can't suck anything from the fill plug, because that's right over the 4th or 5th clutch pack (can't get access down). "Flush machines" use the cooler lines. Don't get that done on a Honda/Acura.

Just drain and fill as recommended above.

also, when pulling the drain plug, you can look at the magnetic piece and see what's there. I would simply go for the drain and fill 3 or 4 times. Best bet overall.
