Post Trading in?

I am thinking about trading my 1998 3.2 TL for a 2001 TL. How much do you think the dealer would give me for it. It is in absolute mint condition with about 32,500 miles on it.

Wampum, you can go to edmunds.com or kbb.com and get the avg. trade-in value for your car based on condition, mileage, options, etc. Very helpful information if your thinking about trading. Edmunds also has the TMV (true market value) computation that will let you know the true street value (retail) of your car should you decide to sell it yourself. Good luck.

Just be careful - sometimes they give you the blue book (retail) price at those sites, whereas the dealer will pay black book (auction price) for your car. That's how they make a profit... Take the blue book quote and drop off up to 10% - that is what they will usually offer...

Many times banks and credit unions have the REAL story on trade-in values for vehicles. You do have to watch yourself, as everyone is out to make a quick buck. Good luck!
