Trade In Values???
I'm considering trading my TLS for an S2000... my TL has been awesome, and I'm having ahard time deciding (I know, two TOTALLY different cars!)
Here's the situation: I go to the Honda dealers, and they offer me $22K at one and possibly $26K at another. I know there's no KBB on the '02 TLS' yet, but for sure our cars have to be worth more than $22K even on a trade in! Mine has the nav and is in showroom condition. I see them being sold by private parties for $28K- $30K. What's your experiances for those of you that have traded or purchased an '02 TLS/nav lately?
Thanks!
(Undecided!!!)

The last time that I tried to get rid of my car was over the winter when my car was 6 months old and had about 10,000 miles on it. My TLS is Black/Black non-navi - most dealers were giving me prices between $24,000 to $25,000 for the car. Hope this helps.

The TLS should definitely be worth more than $22K. I know someone who traded in a 2000 TLP for a S2K and got $21K with 13000 miles and OEM Under body kit and WW spoiler

You'll always come up short taking it to a dealership unless it's a real hot commodity. You can always do better privately.
Edmunds shows a low mileage 2001 worth $25.0, so depending on your mileage the $26.0 doesn't look too bad.
American Leasing Guide shows the following, however it doesn't list 1 year values. These numbers also do not take mileage into account.
2002 ACURA TL
4d Sdn Type S
PRICING
MSRP
$31,710.00
Invoice Price
$28,942.00
Residual
24 month: 63%
36 month: 55%
48 month: 48%
60 month: 42%

I was offered $26k by a Pontiac dealer and $25k by Driver's Way (kinda like Car Max) as a trade-in value for the car. My car is a 02 TLS, WDP non-nav and had 21k miles. Both of those dealerships are in Birmingham, AL. Hope it helps!
FYI, the nav adds no value to the residual. That's why ALG percentages for residuals are lower for navi cars than non-nav. When I got rid of my 2000 TL for the Type-S, I was told the same thing.
