Smile Took a SVT, f-150 this morning!

I noticed this dark blue standard cap F-150, pull up next to me at the light. I couldn`t see any one driving, The tint was to dark. The light changed, He jumped a half car lenth in frount. I didn`t realy expect a jump like that. I shifted to ss. Kept it in low gears and high rpms, and I walked away from him, it was over in seconds. We pulled up to the next light, he turned left and spun his wheels. I never did see his or her face. It wasn`t till he turned left that I seen the SVT Badge. I guess a bad day for him and a good start of a day for me. Remember keep your knives sharp and your powder dry!

Happy hunting!

Yeah dude. It's not even a race if that was a real SVT or he was trying.

Supercharged 5.4-liter V-8
380 horsepower
13.7 qtr mile
0-60 in 5.2 seconds.

And please don't tell me it's the driver. I could put my 5 year old nephew in that truck and he'd smoke you.

I sold a 99 Lightning to buy my TL-S and let me promise you, the "S" doesn't stand a prayer of keeping up, no matter who is driving it.

I owned my TL-S for two weeks before I finally delivered my Lightning to it's new owner. On the last drive I made of the Lightning, I was amazed at how slow my TL-S was in comparison.

(By the way, you didn't say you were driving a TL, so might it be that all of us are assuming incorrectly?)

It was definitely a regular F-150 with some fake badges. It could also have been a Harley Davidson F-150 which run about the same as our cars stock for stock. I have had 2 runs against those and both times I pulled a little all throughout but it was still neck and neck with no clear winner.

Could it be a fake "SVT" badge on the F150 ? Just like a "Type-S" badge on a TL-P ???

Just a though ...

Cheers !!!

Aaaaahhhhhh!!!!, wow this one is a little hard. Those Lightnings are very fast. I believe the badge thing, let me try to analyze this: the only way (and still very hard) is that when he took off he let go to see if you were coming and since you went SS and took off (hopefully hammer down) it took him some precious seconds to get that kick down again and like the saying you blink you loose.
I still don't even believed myself. But hey, congrats! Lucky one.

Well

I happen to own a 2002 Lightning and a 2002 TL-P.. I realize that the TL is not an S, but the S better have a freakin supercharger on it to catch my L, and my L is basically stock.. no way you pulled an L under normal circumstances... really, not trying to say you arent telling the truth or dissing your ride.. but the L hauls and its quick not fast, so you were playing into its strongpoint of racing from a stop, if you were going 80 and went for it, I might believe you, but not from a stop or at a low speed...

I agree with all of you, I do belive it was a fake! Like I said earler I didn`t see the SVT badge till He turned away, and it was on the tail gate. That was the only spot I seen the badge. I know I don`t stand a chance against one , But I`ll be dammed, to let the chance go by and not try!

Happy Hunting!

A real lightning you would have known right away by the lightning bolt on the side. a lightning would have killed you or any other TLS from a stop...even a blown TLS would probably lose!

Its hard to mistake a normal 150 with a lightning (obviously appearance can be altered.

Dude, when he made his turn and you saw the SVT Badge, are you sure it wasn't on the back of the Mustang Cobra that he was pulling on a trailer?

I'm only playing with you.
I've driven Lightnings before and I own a TL-S.
There is just no way we beat a Lightning from a stop.
