Took my car to the dyno... Pics
Here are the results. I also have two videos but dont know where to upload them. Any help will be appreciated.
The only performance part I have is a AEM cai. Not bad results for just an intake. I use Mobil 1 full synthetic oil, but I dont know if that has anything to do with it. I cant wait to see the results once the pulleys, crank, and headers are installed. Any feedback will be appreciated.

I looks like your car shifted gears while you were dynoing - which would account for the blip. That also accounts for the reduction in RPM. You need to keep it locked in one gear when dynoing. Most people use 3rd.
That graph scaling is too flat to read well. He should have lowered the upper bound from 500 to 300.
I'd get my money back for that dyno. The tech doesn't know how to run it.

ASSEMBLED TO PERFECTION
a stock type s does 260 to the crank to the wheels probably like 200 around there somewhere, theres no way in hell u got 80 wheel hp from a CAI!
281 whp?? noo way man, fix up the dyno, or tell us the truth u got a supercharger
daym i should go on that dyno to make my self feel good ill prolly do like 260whp on that dyno lol

Blips don't count. Max hp must be read on the output curve, not on anomalies like gear shift blips.
HT magazine did dyno pulls before and after installing a CT icebox and axle-back mufflers on a TL-S and they got ~202 whp after the upgrades (I think it pulled ~189 whp stock).
I think your dyno pull jibes with the magazine test if you look at the max hp point on the curve (@~95 mph).

LOL
Dude I just looked at the numbers again... 270+ lbs/ft of torque? That's not even an accurate crank number. And 280+hp isnt an accurate number for just an intake either. 270 at the VERY most.
I hope you didn't pay much for that dyno cause it is virtually worthless.
Also, no fan in front of the car? Your car is moving at 100MPH yet the air infront of it is stagnant.
What a waste of money.

yea if you look at the dyno sheet closely and follow the hp line near the end its around 200, thats a little more like it, those dumbasses shifted ucked the middle of the dyno up, but if you just chec out the line after that mark its pretty much accurate

But... it wasn't.
1st) The dyno operator didn't have a clue what he was doing.
2nd) The plot they printed out for you is pretty hard to read. The standard hp/tq plot on the same graph is much easier to read especially when the units are displayed in units of 50.
3rd) if you cut through all the crap on the plots you car shows roughly 200whp and 175wtq.

Why was the car even dynoed in 2nd gear? ... Our car is supposed to be dynoed in 3rd gear (closest 1:1 gear ratio).
That thing makes absolutely no sense what-so-ever, and if you know of someone else dynoing those same numbers and at different dyno shops ... you need to stop going to all those shops because they're clueless.
A dyno should consist of 1 gear (in our case 3rd), being revved from about 2000-3000rpms up until redline.
That will give you an accurate reading. What you have is a dyno of your car being taken from 2nd gear up until redline and then shifting to 3rd with a blip on the dyno when you're shifting. Like mrsteve said, when you wade through all the BS, you're making about 200whp, which is exactly where you should be.
If you're really making 280whp, you should be eating 350z's for lunch and running mid 13s in the 1/4 mile. But, you're not.

yeah, everyone's right about that dyno unless in some never see way it accounts for the 20-25% tranny power loss.
ppl i'm confused on BHP...i know what whp and reg hp is but WT* is bhp?
