too go0od to be true?

so i just brought an 2002 acura tl-S black on black for 5,500 cash with 66k.. isnt it sound too good to be true? so i was researching about what the difference between the type S. the car i brought have mostly everything type s. im pretty sure it a type s. it got the tailight, rims, the SEAT, type s knob and stuff like that. BUT . for some reason it doenst have the white gauges? is it true all type s come with white gauges? so that got me thinking and i was looking around at the gauges and i kind of saw a scratch mark at the cluster screw, it POSSIBLE for them to swap the white gauge and put a regular one.. with this situation that mean there MIGHT BE A CHANCE that my cluster have been swap to lower mileage? damn.. the tranny warranty is out because he brought the car brand new in 01. and is only extended to 7 years.. what do your guys think? that i got rip off ? or it okie eventho they swap the cluster since it a type S and it only 5500.. didnt register it either.. Hmm. thanks in advance . dont flame

tranny will proabably go out soon considering the price... man your set up for complete failure with this car... i hope it turns out ok... you HAVE to do more research before buying

False representation of the mileage is a federal offense...do you know this guy or have the ability to track him down? Run a CarFax.

I agree with the others. RUN THAT VIN! Also, on the left side by the steering wheel where there is the foglight switch and moonroof switch, see if there is a button that says VSA. NON TYPE S comes with TCS, and TYPE S comes with VSA.

You got hosed Timmy, you got hosed. Sorry to hear man, I kinda got fucked buying my TL too.

Lesson learned. NEVER LOOK A GIFT HORSE IN THE MOUTH. You can get a deal, but if it seems like a steal, you're probably the one getting robbed.

any local car dealer can get a carfax printout for you for a little cash- or do it online with a credit card
call acura for cars history-- as they know it
1-800-382-2238 x5 need the VIN

why would a dealer do for free- what cost them money, and you are not buying a car from them
expect 15 bucks

no, im sorry, i know this does not cost them money...

when you have an account with carfax.... looking up a carfax history cost you nothing extra...

the dealer can carfax car vins all day long at no additional charge... which is why both of my car's carfaxes have come from my acura dealer at no charge... they even faxed me a copy to work..

question is... why would they charge...

normally i'd say my dealer is being nice.. but the dealer is not paying for individual reports from carfax.. not happening...

I'm telling you .. The priceless thing you can do right now is to go and check on www.myacura.com . Register and it'll tell you if its a base or type s. That's where you can start.

I think he means that he registered the car as having 66k being thats what the cluster says, but the actual car has 150k.

We are not flaming, your on a forum, the whole idea is to ask for opinions, and opinions is what you are getting. I think you got f**** over.
And jjashaa is VERY knowledgeable about these cars, maybe even the most knowledgeable on this board.
