I have an '03 TL-S with about 12K miles. I'm in NY and it's very wet here in the last two days. Anyway, I came home from work tonight and started up my car. Everything was fine, I drove it a few blocks, then parked it and now when i had it in park, it revs from idle to about 2500 RPM and then back down continuisly. If I hit the brake, I hear a clicking noise. it's so wierd. Any ideas what can be causing it? I have a remote starter and alarm, but I don't think this is causing it. Donny

it happened to me once when i just started up the car in a cold morning. i then shut off the engine for a minute & no problems afterwards. if it continuously happen, a trip to the dealer is a must.

I shut the car off and restarted it, it was not doing it too noticeably, but if I give it any gas, it starts doing it again.

I'm not sure if this is problematic with TL's but my Talon did the same thing after it warmed up. It was the ISC (Idle Speed Control) servo that went south.

It happened to me, about two months after I bought the car. I called the dealer and brought it in. They kept it over night and told me that the computer had had a glitch in it. They "re-programmed" the fuel injection computer and it was fine after that. I've had it for about two years now and it has never done that again.

Good luck. I'd call the dealer and have them fix it.

Have you modded your car recently? There's been grounding issues w/ improper mod installations, which causes the cruise control to malfunction. Look into it.
