TL Shudders at 65-70 MPH, What's the Prob?

I just noticed recently that at highway speeds of around 65-75 MPH, normal accelaration, my car shudders, almost like a series of sudden "jerks" coming from the front of the car. Could it have anything to do with the fact that I just had a "new" tranny installed? When it started the shuddering today, I put it into sportshift mode and shifted down to 4th, just to see what would happen, and it made a noticble loud clicking noise. Also, my car now makes a faint whirling (or maybe whining) noise when accelarating between 25-35MPH that I never noticed before the new tranny. What do y'all think, could the shuddering be unrelated to the tranny?

hm.. if the probs came up after installing the new tranny, try telling your dealer that and let them check it out...? that's what i would do..

what did they do? install a new tranny w/ oil jet kit? w/o one? or just the jet kit..?

possibilities could be... the tranny itself, broken engine mounts..

search the board, a lot of people havce been having shuddering problems lately.. when i had my "studdering" problem, turned out to be the tranny + broken engine mounts.. hence why i suggested checking those out..

did your problem occur only at highway speeds?

The tranny was a used tranny w/out the oil jet kit, if that is of importance

The axles could be damaged.

It was the tranny. Today, I was driving down the interstate at about 70 when it starts shuddering. Then, I hear a screeching metal on metal noise from the front. That's when the car revved into 5K RPM and dropped into 3rd. This tranny was replaced just one week ago, and they have no loaner for me, I am screwed at the moment...

I have the same problem with the whining at low speeds. That is normal because when my car was in for service they gave me a tl loner and it did the same thing.
