2000 Maxima GXE 5-speed
Paid: $18,500
Stock E.T.- 14.82 @ 94.75mph (on 18" rims)
CL, TL, CL-S, TL-S....whatever!
NONE ARE FASTER!
And my car was about 1/2 the price!
Nuff said.

What's your point?
You got GXE cause it's better car than TL and cheaper?
Get real... Admit it your would buy TL if you had money to get it. My friend has 2000 Maxima SE with sports package. Driven it many times. If you spend $100 extra dollars a month u can afford TL. Well in some cases. I guess u couln't. IMO

BTW, how do you feel rolling the window up manually???

buddy if only u saw adams car u wouldnt be talkin sh*t like that... i know u would just crap ur pants seeing his car and how it performs and knowing he only paid $10000 less for his... and btw GXE got basically all the options like TL except leather... and i understand u guys complaining about the rear of our cars since thats all uve been seeing of it... now i usually dont like to get into this type of crap especially with a TL i have 2 friends with them and they are nice cars... but lemme tell you that even if our cars are close we got the best damn enthusiasts group out there... as i said before... TL is a great car just like the Maxima... i had the choice of getting either a TL or the Maxima and i went for the Maxima... a main reason was cause i had one before... but another reason is i dont really like american built cars... we both are entitled to our opinions and obviously we chose what we like better... and we will also obviously not go against our own kind so even though this was very entertaining it is not going anywhere and never will... so maybe we should just stop this and how bout we make a TL,TL-S,CL,CL-S,MAXIMA meet all together in NE in brooklyn at floyd bennett field where we had our meet last week... i can go set it up again... just lemme know if u want this... we should all be friends!! and talk about how we rip up GTPs and the others... so lemme know if u want this to happen...

The engine on the Maxima was derived from the 300zx. The Nissan crew has over 20 years of experience in Japan making Maximas!

Honda Accord guys only had 5 years at most (97-01). TL used to be a Japanese made car, making the TL in US just makes it a garbage. If I were to buy the TL, I would rather buy a Chevrolet for a way cheaper price since the TL or other CHevrolet sport Sedan are both made in the US!

I believe all Maximas have power windows as standard on all trim levels.

So what if they had 20 years of experience on that engine?!?!? It means its 20 years of old technology that is just being reintroduced every year...come on get with the times...

BTW, for your guy's information, motortrend just came out with the new issue testing 6 different sport sedans, and here is a posting on it...

Just got the new Motor Trend in the mail, they have a comparison of 6 sport-lux sedans including the TL-S which they show a 0-60 in 6.28 and 1/4mi of 14.7 @97.6 MPH which is essentially dead even with the 330i with 6.11, 14.65/97
Other notable, epa rating is 18/24 now...one of the worst of the bunch (though it was the only automatic!!!)

ENOUGH SAID!!!

Maybe I'm msturing, but by TL is much quiter than my 97 Max SE and it delivers a much better ride. The TL handles better also. The Max had a harsh ride and the tires that came on the car s*****. They made lots of noise. Like some1 said earlier, as I tested the 01 Max SE I notice that the Max seemed to
run out of getty up in the higher rpm range while the TL keep pulling. What does it mean when you have an uncle who is 64 years old and a loyal GM fan and won't own nothing else
and disses all other carmakers starts asking you frequently, "Can I drive your car to the store for cigarettes"?

Don't even dis the Type-S dude, The Type-S is just a American made car! It's a shame for a true Acura love to drive it! We could compare the Nissan 25GT Sport Sedan with the Type-S if you really want to!

2.5L Neo
280hp
0-60 @ 5.5sec

It is priced to sell at similar price with teh Type-S . And yes, interior is a little bigger than the pimped up Accord!

OH, because they are both made in America! Do you know what does it mean when Acura make the TL in US? It reduces the cost to make them and so they don't have to sell them in Japan!

IF I were to choose between the TL-S and the Cadalic, I will choose the Cadalic because I wouldn't want a Japanese car made in USA! BTW, if you goto Japan people will not know what the heck TL-TypeS is and they will probably make fun of the SHOC Vtec!!! [laugh]

The Type-S or Type-R line of Honda symbolizes performance, putting a SOHC in the them just doesn't make sense.

For your info the TL in Japan is called a Inspire. The last i heard Cadillac was made by GM, not Chevy. And another interesting FACT i am sure you are not aware of is that the TL is Assembled in the states, not made here.......I suggest you do a little research before making statements

I'm considering the TL-S. Driving a 96 Maxima. Looking for more power and 5speed auto. Sport shift is a nice plus. My Maxima though has been a great car - quiet, comfortable, quick and 30 MPG on the highway.

Get real... Admit it your would buy TL if you had money to get it. My friend has 2000 Maxima SE with sports package. Driven it many times. If you spend $100 extra dollars a month u can afford TL. Well in some cases. I guess u couln't. IMO

You're a complete idiot.
Manual Windows?!?! ROFLMFAO!!
Sorry sonny...the GXE comes with power windows, door locks, mirrors, cruise control, A/C, and other options as well.
Nissan doesnt strip down their "base" models like a Honda Civic CX.
No need to spread your ignorance.
<img src=http://members.aol.com/my4dsc2000/MaximaBurnout>
WITH the supercharger, 19" rims, etc my Maxima STILL cost me about $10k LESS than your car.
And I have owned nothing but Honda/Acuras for the past 8 years...until I test drove my Maxima...I was sold. Test drove the CL-S as well and it is a nice car no doubt...but i wouldnt pay more than $25k for such a car. Actually i wouldnt pay a dime cuz i dont drive anything with a slushbox!

Supercharged 2K Maxima.
5-speed manual.
340HP.
19" Rims.
You get the idea.

As far as all this debating goes; the Maxima and TL-s are not even in the same class. Compare the I-30 to it. If you dont see where the price differential goes between the TL and Maxima or even between the Maxima and I-30; open up your eyes!!!! the ride quality, cabin noise, fit and finish, standard equipment list, etc dont compare. I've owned a maxima, my cuz owns a 96 GXE, and a friends owns a new SE. Sorry but they all thought my car was better in all respects.

If Nissan follows through with rumors putting a 250-300 hp engine into the next Max, then we'll have a competition in a straight line performance at least. I'll still have the better interior, more comfortable & sporty ride in a more quiet interior with climate control, HIDs, Mem seats, etc. Get the point??

If brute numbers are all you guys are interested in why'd you buy a Maxima?? A Camaro which is cheaper will be faster in a straight line. Will it have the same quality interior, exterior, ride, etc???? I think not.

And to the guy who asked, do I own my car or not?? What do you think you know me or something?? I took deliverfy of my Type-S with Navigation last week bud, and I paid 100% in cash. I wanted a certain Type/Class of car whihc came with certain features and amenities,a nd guess what, I got it. Its called personal preferences, and everyones is different. If I wanted a Max; it would be sitting in the garage right now, and Id have plenty of $$ left over. Come on now, do you have nothing better to do than go to other forums and start crapp because someone else thinks differently than you do? Get a life!!

Bottom Line; Flames and Flamers will not be tolerated here. This is our house, and you are guests here. Respect will be paid, or you will be regulated permanently.
