Friday night on 287 and 87 heading northeast is was driving pretty hard and I noticed a car following me. I was suspicious it was a cop so I slowed down and waited for it to pass me. It was a Intrepid R/T. It pulls up next to me and all the sudden he dumps the gear, so I was like this guy wants to play. So I dropped it into 3rd and I flew by him by the time I hit 85. We started around 50. I slowed down and he pulled up again. This time he pulls up and lowers his windows. He gives the countdown with his fingers 3 2 1 and we are out and he is nowhere to be seen. He pulls up again and he is like damm that thing is fast. I told him it was stock and he is like are you joking. I thought it would give me more of a challenge but it was nothing. Has anyone else encountered 1.

 

Intrepid R/T is a POS. The thing is slow, just not AS slow as a reg intrepid. All the Dodge R/T cars are slow. Now their SRT line up is another story, but that's only on the viper and new dodge ram.

SRT would be on Neon, too... turbocharged Neon... heard it would be as fast as Impreza WRX... if not faster...

R/T 10 isn't slow... Dakota R/T 5.9 isn't slow either.... hm.. Stealth R/T TT.... YUMMY... :o

 

Intrepid R/T should be pretty fast. The dude did not know how to use AutoStick.

 

I thought I read somewhere that the Intrepid R/T was ~8 secs 0-60.

 

same engine to the 300M...8 sec is fair

 

300M does better than 8 seconds, more like 7.5 seconds. Also 300M's engine greatly improves after the first 6,000 miles. I mean it feels like a different car.
