Wow! You know, no one would ever catch me saying anything bad about no GS400/430 ever. BADASS540 just has a lot of pride for his Bimmer and so do some of the Lexus owners. I don't personally know the guy/gal and I'm not trying to defend his words and perhaps he provoked GS430's comments. I have friends that own both the GS400 and 540i-6 (actually 2 of them with that combo) and they will both admit that the GS is smoother and quieter but it is their opinion that the 540i was more fun to drive due to the manual tranny and the feel of the road and the engine sound (since the GS is quieter). I went golfing today and got to ride in a 2001 GS430 Mark Levinson with 17's on the car. Very, very nice. Didn't get to drive it so can't say if it's a "boring" car or not, my thoughts, probably not boring. As far as speed, I think from experience that it goes both ways. Never one sided, and the GS owners and I always manage to give props to each other whether I win or lose. My hats off to you guys, but please, just cuz I own a Bimmer I'm not a snob.

Indeed, I raced a lot of awesome BMW owners, 330i, 540i.. and so on.. Have you seen me ever post dirty talk about BMW?

I like the 540 6 speed a lot, but the 430 engine is bit more powerul and it is detuned to fit the ultra low emission (18/23)
I have finished my full scale suspension setup, and engine tuning as well. the point is, I like BMW a lot, but there are always certain ppl that has to ruin everything.

OH that BADASS 540 is the same guy as the 5406 in Clublexus forum? gosh, this guy just wouldn't give up. by the Way, 1sicklex had fun in that mini meet? nice photos you guys, you look bigger than i thought =D

Yeah, the gal from Hooters took the pic ( do I look 5'3", punkish?)
We had a great time, the PT cruiser club was real cool and the cars there were cool, mostly Ac's and Honda's , a couple of domestics and a couple Toyota's.

I told Lexlady if I could not have the GS4, I'd probably have a 540i (great car but I really love it's image, like the GS).

Yeah it's the same dude, he's looking for a friend (on any board) to agree with him.....

Back to the original post the TL-s can't win vs a 540, BTW some dude here posted that Honda sent the car mags "modded"cars is this true, I hope not.

The TL/Cl-s is already very fast.

I do like Lexus GS430, but I think the rims and tires are very ugly, Tires are way over sized or they need to change the rims or tires either one of them.. everything else no comments... I like BMW540 Rims and Tires, they look much much better..

I am driving 540i (automatic) with Dinan cold air intake and engine chip upgrade stage 2. And, I just bought TL Type S. After 2 months driving the Type S, I believe the performance 0-60mph from Type S could keep up with 540i, but not after 540i. And, for handling, 540i is much better with firmer suspension.

BMW's have the best factory wheels bar-none, they are classy and wonderful and look so good they don't need chrome.

I am a 5 spoke kinda guy, I just like 5 spokes, the TL/CL-s rim looks good on the car.

I believe these GS rims you see are with 16''s base tire/rims package, however, the 17''s optional tire/rims should make you satisfactory, they are the same rims as the the IS except the width = )
