328 has been replaced by the 330. Either way, can't really compare to a TL. What can compare is the 530i, but that car costs a lot more.

Drive 'em and decide for yourself.

You get more bag for the buck with the TL-S if that's what you're asking. But it comes down to what you think is important and what you're willing to pay. As far as kick ass sport sedans go, the 330i and 330ci are hard to beat, especially if you're willing to pay the price. It's easy to run the price of a 330ci to 40+K. I have a 94 325i with a 5sp and I've loved every minute of it. But I don't want to settle for a 325 and I don't want to shell out 40+ for a 330ci so I'm gonna get a TL-S.

I'm in definitely agreement with Nagano63. I thoroughly test drove the 330i in non-sport and sport suspension packages. I didn't even consider the BMW 328i, as it's been discontinued and replaced by the 330I. The 330i sport was awesome, but not overly dominant when compared to the TL-S and IS300. But, after I negotiated a best price of $42K, plus 8 - 10 weeks for delivery, I could not justify paying more for less (in regards to the BMW 330i versus the TL-S). Additionally, to be perfectly honest, I also test drove a Lexus IS300, and was extremely impressed, more so than the 330i. However, due to the lack of rear leg room and especially the Navi option, I decided to stick with the TL-S, and after picking her up yesterday, I am that much more reassured of my decision. However, once again, I must admit that I was thoroughly impressed with the Lexus IS300, and will re-evaluate it after it is slightly re-designed and have the Navi option for next year. Here's my personal preferences for best performance and best "bang for the buck": 1) 2002 Acura TL-S, 2) Lexus IS300, 3) BMW 330i. Note: After the IS300 is equipped with Navi (as an option), in my opinion, it will be a very close decision between the TL-S and IS300.
