TL-S vs. 323/330

Has anyone ran their S against a BMW 323 or 330? What was the outcome?

Thanks,
Steve

I RACED A '01 325 COUPE SAT. NIGHT & I SMOKED HIM OFF THE LINE. BUT I WAS A LITTLE DRUNK...SO WHEN I STARTED APPROACHING OTHER CARS...I SLOWED DWN..PLUS I HAD MY PU$$YA$$ FREIND IN THE CAR & HE KEPT GRABBING ON THE HAND RAIL IN THE CAR....BEGGING ME THE SLOW DWN

I HONESTLY DON'T THINK HE WAS PAYING ATTENTION, BECAUSE I BURNT HIN SO BAD. WE'LL RACE AGAIN WHEN WE BOTH HAVEN'T BEEN DRINKING. I CANT WAIT BECAUSE HE USE TO TALK SO MUCH $HIT, BUT NOW SINCE HE HAS CHOKED OF MY OFFED OF MY JAPANESE EXHUAST FUMES, HE MAY QUITE DWN ABOUT HIS SUPERIOR NAZI GERMAN TRASH :p

NO OFFEENSE TO ANY GERMANS

The TLS will burn a 323 or 325 if its a straight line race..On the track, BMW's are supreme and would run laps around our car..A 330 will be faster in every aspect of performance, straight line and in the twisties.

I agree with FLAcuraTLS. My wife has an 02 530i which should be a little slower since it's heavier and "slightly" softer in handling than the 330i.
Evaluating stock to stock:
When I drive her 530i there is no doubt in my mind that it will out handle our 03 TLS if pushed hard through severe turns. In normal to spirited street driving there doesn't seem to be much of a difference in handling though because were really not near the limits of the capabilities of either vehicle. I think you would have to be a little nuts to drive these cars anywhere near their true handling limits on the street. Straightline acceleration of the TLS seems better than the 530i but I think the auto 330i would edge us out. A manual 330i would likely embarrass us.

Of course, this is just my opinion based on personal observation.

Are you a complete illiterate jacka$$?? You were drunk and racing on public streets?? Brilliant!!!
Judging from your fine grammar skills I guess this is to be expected from a lame a$$ such as yourself. Just think for a moment what your post would have been like if you killed some innocent bystander while you were racing drunk.......

You beat me to it. Based on his post, it seems as though he's still drunk.

Geez!!!

The sad thing is that he was actually bragging about it.

Straightline would go to TL-S if it is auto vs auto. Now, stick with decent driver is different story all together.

Nah... my buddies own a 325, 328 and a 330 manual. The only
real competitor of the 3 is the 330. Great car.

My bad... I never register 325 as competitor for neither G35 nor TL-S (other than pricing)

it will be close 330 and type S, both cars are fast. Drive in edges to edges 330 has better chances, more sporty suspension and cornering is better for 330. Much better. Driving straight to straight TLS has 1 bit of chance. TLS is hard to beat if you dare to drive straight.

I wouldnt consider the TLS a competitor to the G35, but The I35T is.

wouldn't underestimate the 330i, those things pull like hell off the line ! But the TLS does that too so...

Guys, a 323/325 will not be able to keep up staight line with the TLS, but would kill the TLS once the road got twisty...A 328/330 manual is just a better car in every way, performance and handling, but an automatic 328/330 would at least keep up with the TLS. Either way, BMW has the edge, they just know how to make sports cars.

I test drove a 325 the other day, hit it from 0-60, and looked where I was (distance wise)

After the test drive, I did the same with my TLS, I hit 80 at rroughly the same point... there is the best comparison I have had.

Although I will say those cars have a much nicer ride than ours.

Should have measure the time to get there. One could have taken 10 seconds, the other 12 seconds.

Talking Took the 330Ci

Ok, I didn't get to make the Post yet cause i was away on vacation but before i left i raced a 330CI on Route 280 in Jersey right outside of Newark. I pulled up on him goin about 90, saw some deisel-ass Chromes so i slowed to about 80 peeped the car, peeped the driver, saw he was lookin at me so flashed my neons and we both took off. From 80-105 i took him by a few car lengths, both us weaving cause it was light traffic. then i got caught up a lil for a second or 2 and got back in it and from 105-115 i had him by about a car length but he was right on my tail. i don't know what year it was but it's atleast a 2000 cause my girlfriend was talkin to her friend w/ a 330ci sittin on 18" Chromes and he was sayin how he was keepin up w/ a TL-S with blue neons not nowing that she was my girl. We're gonna be racing agian within the next week so i'll give ya an Off the Line Update, also since i now have my CAI in. hehe

An automatic 328 has no chance against a TLS in the straight line 330 a little closer, heck 330 manual's are running 0-60's near the TLS's.

Steve: I've run both the 330i and 330ci. 3- 330i and 2 330ci. One of the 330ci was a manual.

The result was TLS 5 wins BMW 0

So far, I'm 11-0-1 verses 3 Series. The one tie was a race I lost to a M3. I blew it and let him jump me. I really didn't think he was going to run. The next two runs I beat him both times. BTW, that one was a manual.

I borrowed at BMW 330CI Auto for the weekend. It was an excellent car. The handling was great. Although I've never faced a 330CI in my TL-S, having driven both I would have to say that the TL-S is most definately faster.

Hey MONTE...I really feel for you if you think a 328 will get burned by a TLS..I know, cause BMW's have been in my family for years, and I have driven 328's numberous times, both auto and manual, and those cars WILL keep up with a TLS, and a 330 auto will absolutely keep up, if you dont think so, then you need to get your a$$ to a BMW dealership over there in texas and see for yourself just how serious the germans are about performance.

One of my best friends has a 330Ci manual, and let me tell you, it is one hell of a race with the TL-S!!! When we both get good launches, we are even up to about 80 MPH, and then I start walking him very slowely!!!! Our 3rd gear just flat out kicks ass.....it never is not in VTEC!!!!! But once in 4th......well you know :yack:
