I thoroughly enjoy the manual mode shift (among other things), but it seems like the tranny shifts softly. Are there remedies for this? This is especially prevalent in autoshift mode when in the higher RPM range. I can adjust the shift firmness on my Blazer with a Hypertech box, so can the dealer do something similar?

It's an adaptive transmission - it learns from your driving style. In D5 my TL Type S now shifts quite a bit harsher than it did when I first bought it. It's still okay, but I wish I just had a 'sport' and 'luxury' mode. ah well.
