more and more people are doing the 6 spd swap lately...

but it only makes sense to swap out the motor to a Type S as well..

i want to say the 6 speeders are going up to 8-8500 rpms...?

look in the DIY 6 speed swap, by fsttyms1- his is an 00-p ~originally~

the trick with the swap is you lose the computer limited downshift rpm limits of the auto trans-

Many have missed 4th and caught 2nd at high rpm on the upshift, (BANG!)
or overrevved on a downshift (screech BANG!!)--

get these motors much past 7000 and expect internal damage from valve float and contact to piston

i went from 5-2nd at 85mph and it was bouncing off 9k for a sec. bent valves bc of that.

kris (from florida not mod) is using the tl-p engine and 6spd. he had a problem with his rev limiter, i believe hes using richies harness to fix the problem now.

If you keep the auto ECU with the manual you will have the ECU not liking it and you will be restricted. You will want the Richie modules. Also be warned that until you use the modules you wont have a reverse lockout which could be a big problem hitting Reverse instead of 6th

Yes i got it, thats why i posted No.
Where did you possibly think the type-s motor would go to that (8-8500)? The 6 speed motor is the exact same motor as the auto type-s. 7000-7200 is it. The computer stops it from going any further.

i figured the 6 speeds may have possibly had a different ECU.

arent manual transmission cars that are coupled with a better engine(type-s) generally capable of higher shift points?

ie: AV6 5 speed auto vs. AV6 6 speed have same or different shift points?

i was just guessing

wasnt trying to spread false info... nobody else was answering so i took a shot
