TL Headrests

I hate our TL-S headrests. Apparently the IIHS does too.

Well you can't adjust the depth of the headrest, it only goes up and down. My old Toyota could. So its harder to get it in the right spot to protect your head from whiplash. Honda needs to put in more better design in our cars.

it looks like they rated the TL-P headrestraints. I wonder if the TL-S ones would have done better.

are headrest suppose to be adjustable to a height where it's higher than your head so in case of a rolled over, it will obsorb the impact instead?

I don't drive with my headrest up high, it's touching the seat. Then again, I'm only 5'5". Is that bad?

we have a unibody steel frame. If our car rolls over, I would hope the frame is enough to protect us and not rely on the headrest. The headrest should be adjusted so the back of your head hits the full of the headrest. I'm 5'11" and I have it one notch up.

whats bad? The fact that you're 5'5" or the fact that the headrest touches the seat?

The thing I don't like is that on the TL-S headrest you can't adjust the angle. Even if the top of your head touches it, it seems like in a collision when you recoil, the top of your neck would go in to the seat further than your head and lower back.

TL-S headrest:

I\
I/

Normal headrest:

Il
Il

The I's represent the back of the person in relation to seat/headrest.

so the lcd's in my '00 headrests won't help the situation then
Hmmm... I wonder if that could cause a fire - i doubt it though, since the new Jaguar XJ has headrest TV'S as an option.

I know... I cannot stand the fact that our headrests wont tilt forward... I mean, really... my old infiniti was perfect, I'd tilt it all the forward so when I was driving around my head would actually rest on it, and I wasn't leaning back any... perfect driving position. I wish my TL had this, and I've even thought about getting a pair of nissan headrests, although I dont know if they would fit.

They reek! My '88 Camry had four-way adjustable and my '03 TLS does not.

I'd rather have the TLP headrests!

I would rather have a TL-P headrest that can adjusted 4 ways.
