TL Body Kit ... OEM vs Wings West

Hey guys, just wanted to get some feedback on weather I should stick with an OEM Body Kit or a WW body kit. I've been hearing rumors that the WW kit isn't the best of quality compared to the OEM kit.

I personally want my rear lip to be WW and the sides and front to be OEM. Like the rear lip of the WW compared to OEM. Has anyone have the WW kit on there car? Ne probs w/ it?

Where's a good place to get the kit?

The only problem with WW kit is that you have to have it painted. I bought the WW kit online and it was 599 + free shipping. When I got it, I was expecting the paint job to be around 200, but the best body shop around my area wanted 450. I heard instances where the WW kit (esp the front lips) paint chipped or that it fell off. The kit is urethane so the body shop you take it to also has to know how to work with it. I recently bought a OEM kit for 400 since my TL's color is disconti and sold the WW kit. You can always try a group buy (I would suggest finding some1 with more Post on this form then you tho)by asking the retail but it depends on how many people sign up.
Ebay is the cheapest place I seen, it used to be 535 till he jacked up the price to 599 but it still includes free shipping.

What year and color is your TL. Depending on those condition it will cost around 400-900 shipped with them painted already. Let me know and I'll PM you different phone #, website, and Parts managers name of the different Acura dealers that sells them for cheap. The material on the OEM kits is probably plastic like our bumpers. I bought mine two weeks ago from Acura of Bellevue for 417 shipped, they didn't have the side skirt in stock so had to order them, so I should be getting my kit this Thrus. 3 weeks isn't a bad wait for such a low price on the kit.

Could you please send the info to me too? Do you think I would be able to find the OEM kit for about the $417 you spent, in silver?

Is this Satin Silver Metaliic? I believe that color is $624 + 3.95 handling + free shipping. That is for 99-01 TL, If you have 02-03 TL it will be around 800 something dollars. Plz tell me what year and exact color.

Yikes White Diamond Pearl. Thats a hard color to match, so your body kit might stand out more or less. Acura of Bellevue is in Washington State. They only have speical on 99-01 Body kit thats been discont. Let me ask some1 how much the 03 TL WDP kit would be and I'll email you. expect around 800-900 dollars.

Im all about the OEM kit, but i really want the WW kit... im SSM so the OEM kit aint cheap either...

BUT~

the thing with the OEM kit kiddies is that it was designed to be placed on the car in the very begining... for example, my '99 SSM has no kit, and has mud guards...

its pretty rare i see a TL without mudguards, unless of cource it has the kit.

If i were to buy the OEM kit right now, i couldent put it on. I would have to take the mud guards off, and after 3 years, the dirt/sand/crap that has gotton between the mudguard and paint has scratched the **** out of the paint.

Thats why WW has the cutsie little flaps on the sides, so to cover up where the mud guards FUBARed the paint.

So, i have to buy wings west, or repaint 4 body panels....

hey NYDesi80, 829.00 + 3.95 handling, and since you live in NY, a 8.25 % tax added to that since the dealer is in NY. If you are intrested, I'll email you the info on the dealer.

Yes please email me the info, I might be able to save myself the tax by getting it shipped to my dorm in Jersey. How much you think for installation at the dealer or do you think I should get it done outside? If so what is a fair price to pay?

My dealer quoted me 100 for install on my 99TL, but 99-01 doesn't require drilling but 02-03 TL does. so it might be 200. You can install it yourself, its not that hard. There are instructions on this site.
