Question !!!tire sizing!!!

I have an 02 tl-s w/ stock 17in. wheels with which I am replacing the tires only. What are my options as far as tire size without having to do any modifications? Can I put 225/50/17, 225 45/17, or stick with the 215/50/17?

Since the stock wheels are only 7 inches wide, you can only go as wide as 225. That being said you can go to a 225/45/R17.

Actually, the stock TL-S wheels are 17x6.5. The stock size is the widest "recommended" tire size, but alot of people on this forum have used 225/45/17 without a problem.

GTPdriver is right. Our wheel is only 6.5" wide. The CL-S has 7" width. I'm riding on 225/45R17 with no problems. Definitely alot better than stock size IMO.
