To tint or no to tint

I cant make up my mind if i should tint the windows or not. I know it looks nice and stuff but people can't see me driving this beautiful car. I was debating this issue with my friends and they also thought the same thing. And yes i want people to see me driving.
I heard our cars come with like 5%tint. Is this correct?

I have 35% on my Anthracite. I think it makes the car look better and you can still see in. It helps with the heat, here in NC it gets to a 100 degrees. It is all personal prefrence though. Many people that don't like tint on cars said they like mine. Good luck.

5 % is almost solid black. the higher the # the more transparent it is.

5% is Limo tint. Hard to see at night. Most states are 50% or 35% for legal. On my old car, got ticketed in Ohio a few times. Here in NC wont pass inspection.

If you want to keep the heat out, and see have others see you, I would go with a 73% tint (legal in all states). This is in addition to the factory tint. It will give you the balance you want.
I would suggest going with Llumar or Solargard.
IMHO

73% you wuold not even be able to tell that they are tinted. It won't block out that much heat. don't waste your money if your only going that dark.

ncbuckeye ......no offence, I beg to differ.
73%+factory tint will bring it down to about 50%.
Will post pics when I have the time.

There are plenty of classy looking tints out there. I have a 38% Centaur on my ABP...it's made by Lumar. Click on this link if you want to see how it looks. You can see in the car with easy yet it adds to the car's appeal.

There are lighter shades of tint that will fit your needs. The 35% is standard & is legal in many places. But you wan't something that reduces glare & has heat rejection & that helps block out the UV rays of the sun. Most of the lighter shades can do the same things as the darker shades. The darker shades offer more privacy. This makes it harder to see from the outside inside the car. The interior color of the inside of your car can also be a factor of your tint color choice. If you have light interior you may want to get a little darker shade of tint. But its very important if the state the tint percentage is leagle in your state. For that matter make sure its legal in your local area or how much they might mess with you. The TL has green heat rejecting glass already in it from the factory. With any tint 51% or daker when that tint is put on the TL it will be slightly darker. It may not be much but it is because of the factory glass. So looking on a chart you may want to get a sample to put to the window of your car to see how it looks. Go with 45% or darker if you can get away with it.

I also had the same problem. Eventually, I decided to go with 35% all around. I am glad I did, it really makes the car look classy. I have had many people, who weren't big tint fans, tell me they thought it looked good.
