tint dilemma.. 35% or 20% ?? help me choose!

hey sup guys!

i gotta make a choice..

my windows are already tinted but i wanna get darker tint up front.

right now my front windows are 55%, back side windows are 35% and back is 20%.

now i need to decide if i get 35% for the front to match the rear sides and leave the back window at 20%.. OR if i get all four side windows tinted to 20%..

20% is not too dark and it would prolly look great.. but will it make my windshield look too clear.. and i dont wanna tint it even tho it would be only like 55%..

what do you guys think?

btw im getting it done for VERY cheap.. it's a friend of mine who's gonna do it.. 30$ for two windows and 60$ for all four :P (with quality paper)

i say 35%.
if its 20 the contrast would be too large with the windshield.
but thats just what i think.

btw i checked out ur TL, looks pretty damn nice
how much did the mesh mod cost you?
i just joined the forums today so i dont have much clue of a lotta things. it seems like a pretty cost effective thing to do tho

i would definately go with the 35s... i had 20's on my jeep and well at night it was just too dark and it can get pretty hard to see.... nnot sure of how many pedestrians i clipped with those tints...

Go with what you think matches best ... I went with 20% all around ... can't touch the front windshield (illegal to tint except the top 15 cm / 6 inches) so there is a contrast up front ... but the tints around keep the car cooler in summer and there's privacy, as well.

thanks for the compliment i really appreciate it

if you are talking about the lower "fog holes" well it cost me 2$. (cost of the grill at home depot).. all you have to do is take off the bumper, cut the plastic and use epoxy or urethane to hold the grill in place.

now if you're talking about the upper grill it cost me 2$ too :p just take the grill apart, cut the mesh grill, put it in place, and put the grill back on the car

i REALLY dont know which one to choose, 20 or 35 ?? arrggggghh!!!

I put 35%on the front two windows to match the back two windows and leave 20% on the rear windows.

Anything darker looks ghetto IMHO.

I personally like the 20% doors and either 20% back window or 5% back window. I have this combination on my Accord now. It's dark, but with the 20% on the sides, it lets light in enough to keep the cops away, at least here in CO. My TLs has 35% doors and 20% rear. Probably going to leave the rear and get the doors at 20% because I think 35% is rather light, but I had to get that since I was in MN at the time when I got it.

I have 20% all around (windshield is clear).
In your case, I'd go 20 all around. You already have the rear at 20% and removal (no matter who's doing it) is a royal PITA. So why risk it. Our rear window is really expensive (thinking worst case scenario).
Also, I think 20 would be a nice contrast with your car. Leave the windshield as is.

I say go 20% all around. Thats what I have and I wouldn't even think of going lighter. Here's a pic of my car with the tints.

Just be sure you consider your state's laws regarding tint darkness.

I have 20% in the back, and 30% on the sides. Looks good to me. I don't think I could do 20% on the sides because I have a hell of a time backing down my driveway at night trying to see through the 20% on the back window. Could be dangerous. (Geez, I sound like an old man now!).

I have 20% in the back and 35% all around. keeps the cops off of me and it's still slightly tinted to make the car look nice. sometimes I do wish it was darker, but with the nasty cops around me, it's better to keep it lighter.

Well i have 5% all around I always get dark tint but if you don't want it that dark i would with 20%, I think 35% is too light and for your front windshield if you can find someone to do it get that 55% i had it on my rodeo and it look good it was more like mirror tint.

I'll tell you cousin had his windshield tinted on his benz and it was insane. He had 5% all around and 50% on windshield. Let me tell you that during the brightest day you still couldn't see in that car. And the car was triple black.

For SSM, i suggest 35% on doors and back window. I have 37% metallic tint and I think it looks great and uniform.

there's the same number of "vote" for 35 and 20% and i really cant decide

well i think im gonna go with 20% all around, and if i dont like the way the windshield looks im gonna get it tinted like 75 (?) or 55%.

i have 20% all around on my SSM and it looks great. i never even notice the contrast between the windsheild and the rest of the windows. although if i was to do it again i would probably go for 5% all around.
