Touch screens have VGA input and PS/2 or serial output. They Emulate a serial/ps2 mouse, just an Elo or Microtouch driver so you can calibrate it and configure click/drag options, etc.

Absolutely, as long as the touch screen is made that way. Most POS (point of sale) terminals are all-in-one and have integrated touch screen so they have a hard-wired connection to the motherboard. While it's still basically just a com port, you'd have to get the schematic and a DB-9 connector to make the correct fitting if you were removing it from an otherwise junked POS machine. If you were getting a stand-alone LCD Touch screen though, you got it.. Driver install and BAM! you're done.

Too much work for mp3 player because there is nothing else you can do with that computer not to mention the drives might not last that long due to shock, unless they are encased and supported rightm, etc.... i looked into this about 3 years ago on my mustang and I kept loosing hard drives, plus i needed the car to remain on for a few seconds during shutdown, boot-up, etc... I would rather just get an mp3 cd changer or something similiar.

I will try and find some pics of my system i had to post

I just use an mp3 player with a cassette adapter. The sound is still pretty good and since each CD holds 150+ songs I don't have to change out the CD too often.
