Thoughts on a Moonroof Deflector

I was wondering what y'all think about those clear (plexiglass?) moonroof deflectors? Seems like every time I open the moonroof, I get that buffeting effect. It helps to lower the windows, but still.

Does the deflector help? Does it ruin the lines of the car? I assume the dealer sells theses things?

I have one on my car (check out my sig for pics). I like it because when you drive with the sunroof open, it is still very quiet. However a lot of members have complained of the visor scratching the roof of their car and causing discoloration in the paint. If you never plan to remove the visor once you put it on, this shouldn't be a big deal, but its something you have to consider. You can buy the visor from this website (click on Genuine Acura Parts), or my favorite site to get OEM parts is www.honda curaworld.com (remove the space.. cuz of word filters), they sell it there for $46.80 with free shipping.

Installation instructions are also included on their website.

I think they are great, it REALLY helps. As for the lines of the car, it still looks sweet as long as you have a rear spoiler to balance the look. Otherwise it looks a bit strange.

Hey Kennelm, I bought one about a year ago and decided that I didn't like it so I took it off. If you're interested I'll sell it to you. I think I had it on the car a total of 1 week. Its been on the shelf in my garage. PM me if you're interested.

hey kennelm, this one caught my eye because i ask the same thing about 3 months ago,and i got pretty much the same responces you're getting but let me tell you,I took mine off after about 3 weeks and i had a rubb line all the way around the sunroof, I keeped the car clean by washing it at least once a week, and also waxed that area before i installed it. Preformance wise, yes i was happy with the noise level with sunroof open all the way compared to with out the visor BUT it made the tilt function unbarably loud at highway speed and also if you ever use thoughs brushless car washes where they send your car through on a track your car will come out with soap running down it from that shield.
It looks good and if you deside to get it i'd recomment taking it off to wash the car and also cleaning the rubber seal with some softening conditioner.

Yield,

Is it feasible to take it on and off? Seems like a hassle. Anyway, thanks for the info.

I have them on both of my cars and they serve their purpose quite well, and dont worry about the paint if you keep it tightned up or donot plan on removing it from the car like me.
