Thninking of Selling My Type-S - What's It Worth?

Ok, I'm thinking of selling my 2003 Acura 3.2TL Type-S - Agean Blue Pearl w/ ebony interior- 14,900 miles - no navigation - purchased 06/17/02 - showroom new - having warranty work done next week for minor items.

I was thinking of having Carmax buy it, but what do you all think is fair for a selling price? I don't want to get taken.

Car is totally stock. Sticker was (like you guys don't already know) $33,000 and change.
I paid $28,239 for it brand new.

I would like to be able to just get out of it clean, but I don't know about that. It's a 36 month lease, and I've only made 10 payments so far. If I can't sell it easily, then I will just keep it. I love it, but...

Reason for contimplating sale: bought 4 door because of family, then ended up getting divorced last December. Don't need big car or big car payment any longer.

Thanks to all in advance.

Car max will almost always give you the kelly blue book trade in value, no more, no less. In your case, thats a ripoff.

Sell privately. You have a good color combo and mileage, so it will sell quickly. But since its a lease call the leasing company and find out of there are any type of penalties for breaking the lease!!!

I got $22,500 for mine with 49,000+ miles on it. Sell it yourself, the trade in will get you bad.

Maybe I'll call today and get a 10-day payoff, and depending what it is, maybe I'll list it online or something. Would anyone here be interested? Or maybe know anyone? I bet I owe pretty close to $27,000, or more.

I bought a used 02 tls with navi for 26k last year with 18k on it. I am pretty sure you will be upside down. They are selling them at the dealerships for 26 with 18k to 20k on them .

Definitely sell it yourself. If you're in no rush, that's the way to go. The dealership would probably give you $22,000 to $23,000 for your car. You could probably get away with $25,000 if you sold it privately. A good gauge is to look for TL's on cars.com and see what used ones are going for.

I am selling my '02, no-navi, with 26k miles. I started at $25k and have a potential buyer at $23.5k The car is about 22 months old. The dealers are asking closer to $26k for equivalent cars, but there is no way any would sell for that much.

Unfortunately, the new car financing incentives have done a number on the used car market.
