Clifford Solaris G4 Alarm with REMOTE START and Black-Jax

This one came installed with the car when i first brought it and it appears to be impenetrable.

Heres the website so you can read about the G5

No alarm is impenetrable. If an experienced thief really wants your car, they'll get it. The key to an alarm isn't really the bells and whistles of the alarm, but more in the install. You can have a great alarm, but if the install sucks, then you've wasted your money.

yeah thats true..but i think the bets alarm out there on the market right now would be CLIFFORD MATRIX RSX 3.5 ...it has alot of stuff that will make ur car safer at night like paging system that will wake u up at night if ur alarm goes off...but like timmy8151 said if a thief really want your car they will get it no matta wat..jsut do wat i do...hide ur real alarm in a really good spot...and get an alternate fake alarm and put it somewhere the thief might go ot first and they will cut that one and the alarm will jsut keep on going off then they will just end up running away..becuz they might get scared if they stay too much longer...but yeah CLIFFORD MATRIX RSX 3.5 is the way to go right now..

the remote start is one of the best investments you can ever make.

i'm in ny so we get a wide range of temps during the year so during really cold winters and really hot summers it comes in handy.

This was copied from the site, if you have questions feel free to ask.

BlackJax instantly recognizes carjacking attempts. First it ensures that you need do nothing except get away from this life-threatening situation. Then it sets the trap. Shortly after the carjacker drives away, BlackJax dynamically shuts down the engine and immobilizes your vehicle when it's at a safe distance. Even if your vehicle is stolen out of a parking lot by a thief or joy-rider, the same scenario will occur.

http://www.clifford.com/main.asp

Your car is totally immobilized, no tampering or attempt to restart it will work. With the lights flashing and the siren blaring, the thief has no choice but to run. Once he's gone, you walk a block or two to your car, enter your secret code, and safely recover your car with or without police assistance.

stick two to choices: Clifford 3.5 Matrix (which I have), or Viper 791...the best of the best.

I installed sensors everywhere, headlights, hood, trunk, glass, u name it, its there lol.

Living in NYC is a gamble, but if a thief wants yer car, they'll get it. But for a joy ride? thats not happening.

Anybody know what the dealer uses when they install an alarm? I live in the lower NY area.

I close to buying a new TL, and was probably going to have the dealer install an alarm with auto-start.

I know I am going to pay more to have a dealer do it, but this way its covered under the Acura warranty and the extended warranty I will probably get...

Viper 791X. No doubt about it. Immobilizer if someone gets in your car and tries to start it. Proximity, shock, etc. You can't break the thing especially if you get a back up siren that goes off and continues to go off if they cut power to your car. The alarm baught off of ebay is $225 shipped and any other accessories that you may want. Install should cost you about $300. It is worth it though! Remote start alone is awsome!

Lots of people recommend Viper or Clifford. I'll get Viper 791x alarm with remote start install by tomorrow. Alarm and 4 autol roll windows for $450.

for those with remote start, did you have to give up your key for it? I mean that since there is a chip in the key you engine should only start with the chip relaying the signal to it.

Does the Viper you had installed work with the factory Acura alarm system, like on the viper remote when you press lock twice does it make that beep sound?

I am also interested in an _active_ alarm. I'd like something that will not disable when the thief manages to wiggle a coat hander throught the window and trigger the unlock button that is so accessible and easy to it (twice he got my car open)

I do not want to interfere with the stock security and would prefer to carry ONE keychain transmitter.

Is there an alarm that will castrate a thief in an attempt to steal from or of the car? How bout just a quick sterilization to remove his genes from the genepool? auto deploy tazer?
