Things a bit slow here....

What ever happened to the Mystery Mod? That was all the talk here for months - did it ever come to pass?

I guess you are all waiting for something new to break, but from my lurking status it seems you are in the doldrums.

Maybe we should fire up the Amsoil debate again...

BTW, just finished educatin' the masses on the subject of low-temp thermostats - worthless in my opinion.

I also did some computations on the issue of "do metal (aluminum, steel) CAI's pick up too much heat from the engine bay compared to plastic stock system".

The answer is no - although aluminum especially has high thermal transfer rate, given a 2.5 - 3 " inch pipe. the flow of air is so fast that the pickup of heat in the intake air charge is minor - a few degrees at best. I think CAI does not pick up much power in the mids (or actually loses some) due to Helmholtz effects I posted on previously.

Ta ta!

Makes you wonder whether or not the power increase will be anywhere near as close as the proto numbers suggest, given that it's been at least half a year since MM was first tested and apparently there are still issues with it?

I for one would still like to think there is still hope that it will still come out, but the longer time passes by, the more I think that it sorta kinda sounds like vaporware...sure, a prototype was tested but any smart person knows that doesn't guarantee anything.
