no sound clip that i know of. remove the resonator already. no one has ever regret doing it. its a subtle growl you hear in the top end RPM range, just do it

agreed! just do it.
it will take you less than a hour to do. if you dont like it (which would make you the only person who didnt) you can simply just put it back on

Well i was thinking of doing the same thing. I have exhaust but i want a little more vrum. not too much though.. but people have told me that its the resonator thats keeping it from doing that sound.. I also been told that since i do have diff exhaust now the sound can be loud and that i might get pulled over. So thats what kept me from doing it. But since i see that you can put it back on wit no problem i am convinced as well to try this.

its not loud while driving, its only loud while under full throttle, and its not so loud that you would get pulled over for sound

This was the absolute first mod I did...and I was very nervous about doing it all myself...believe me, once you're done, you're gonna walk away smiling. It's that easy. Besides even the best quality audio is not going to give you the same experience as actually driving it and hearing it for yourself. You can listen to the highest bit rate audio file, but if you really want to feel like you made the best decision you can, then you really need to experience it all. After asking yourself why you were so worried, you're probably going to get in, take it for a spin, and say to yourself..."Cool....I'm done." If you have any questions, I am more than happy to tell you how I ended up doing it. Good luck!

:smokin: well its done, it was a piece of cake, just like ya all said. Mine was a little different than the norm because of the body kit, but was fairley easy to figure out. i did end up with two extra gromments when all said & done. cant figure out where i missing them. all four are in the bottom & all are in the top. i said to myself WTF. man that bumper was a lot easier to handle than my 91 legend. What a pain in the ass that thing was!!....took here for a test, & i'm in love, its like i'm @ indy when the vortec kicks in. Just luv the sound!!! Absolutly nothing ricey or cheesy about it. It really sounds high performance. Thanks guys for all your encouragement, should have done it a year ago. I'm getting quite the used parts house in my garage now in the last few days, between the header install & resonator removal. now come on unichip. Damn the more mods you get the more you want, its highly addictive, don't ya know.

hey 260 you can do it, just do a search for resonator removal & print it out in that attachment you'll find the bumper removal instructions also. the whole thing took me about an hour & 1/2, with several interuptions. come on just go for it. you won't be sorry.

very easy mod for sure and worthwhile, I always wanted a CAI but now I cant decide, I never imagined removing the resonator would be so sweet!

yea i removed both exhaust resonators. i just recently welded the small one back in place. i also made loud tip inserts for teh comptech exhaust to make it louder (for grins) :toothless
i went to sears and bought these tools. (around 30 bucks for both) for cutting and expanding exhaust pipe. they work great!

I put my resonator back on after hearing it without. I didn't think there was enough of a difference except for an annoying humming sound at idle. I enjoy my car being either quiet, or having a really throaty sound that I think you can only get with CAI.

ummmmmmmmm are you sure you pulled the resonator off? because pullint the resonator off is pretty darn close to a cai in sound. and what humming sound did you get out of pulling it off. there shouldnt be any sound at idle accept when the engine is first started you will get a sucking/woosing sound for a little bit
