My apologies if this thread has been created before (I searched and couldn't find it). I know a lot of people have mentioned concern for theft problems with the TL-Ss (HID lights, etc). I just want a quick informal survey of people on the list *that actually own* TL-Ss to jump in and mention personally if they have been a victim of theft. Specifically, I'm looking for:

1) City and State where it occured

2) Type of theft (whole vehicle, HIDs, badges, stereo--specify OEM or aftermarket, nav, rims (OEM or aftermarket), etc.

3) Type of alarm you have (factory or aftermarket)

I'm not counting people breaking in and stealing your personal stuff, like money, cds, etc. Although that sucks big time, it's really not related to the vehicle--just somebody looking for some stuff. I want to see how much the TL-Ss appear to be targeted.

I'm especially interested to see if anyone has had their TL-S stolen (hopefully not), to see if the factory immobilizer actually works as advertised.

I'd prefer to see responses from owners, as it cuts down on the speculation that "I heard a friend of so-and-so's car got ripped off" was actually a badge theft and not a car theft.

I have had two cars stolen and both were total losses. The '97 Maxima SE had the Nissan factory installed alarm system in it; guess it didn't help.Hope I'll never have to find out about the vehicle immobilzer system in the TL-S. I ain't goin' for three.

BTW, I live in South Florida.
