Post Test drove a 2002 TL-S today, alone.

I went down to the dealer today to check out the Type S and he let me test drive it alone. I wish I had got it from this dealer instead of Sussmann. Anyway I love the new interior but the ride was a little stiffer and I didnt't notice any power difference. Anyone else notice this, I have a Short Ram if that makes that big of a difference.

the only thing i can say is: are u sure u drove the type s? i have a tl with short ram and i just got the tls, and the power is felt everywhere... and i'm not doing any hard acceleration while breaking it in. when i went for my test drive of tls, i immediately felt better pickup... maybe u had a defective model?

You did NOT drive the TL-s if you did not feel a difference in power to the TL.

Next time make sure you look at the back of the car for the signature "type s" in red to be sure what car you are test driving.

P.S Very few salesmen will let anyone test drive this car alone.

It was a Type-S, said so outside and inside the car(I remember the different rims) and could it have been because it was still in the break-in period. The salesman had people coming in, thats how I got to go alone.

I almost started a similiar topic like this until I noticed one was already made. Long story, but I ended up test driving a TL-s alone today too. I wasn't even planning on it, but that's another story. The car had 147 miles on it, and it wouldn't peel. At first I was like wow, this traction control(VSC) is amazing. Then, I turned it off, and it wouldnt peel either. I didn't feel much power until after 40ish. I wonder why? The handling is better, but the wheel feels loser at higher speeds, not tighter. Anyone else notice that??

I didn't notice too much to write home about when I drove the CL-S vs. my '01 TL last fall, either. The S sure didn't feel like it had 35 more ponies to me, maybe 15.

No TL-S at the time either, and I hated the looks of the CL so I just got a TL. Some times I wish I would have gotten a BMW. Go to http://www.texascarsdirect.com/cgi-bin/inventory.asp and check out the E430 and 740iL for under thirty grand and still under warranty. That place always has amazingly inexpensive luxury cars, always nice Bimmers, Benzes and Jags coming through there. Incredibly clean, too...

I drove one with no miles on it and it hauled ass. I cant imagine anyone would think that the TL-S is not any faster.
