Telescoping Steering Wheel & Armrests
Bought at 2003 TL a few weeks ago. Like everything about the car except it is hard for me to find the right driving position. It seems like I am always reaching for the steering wheel and the armrests are a little too far away to get real comfortable while driving.
I was wondering if it is possible to have a telescoping steering wheel or kit installed on the car, and if so, where to get it done. I know some of the other Acura models have the telescoping wheel and similar Honda's do as well.
I was also wondering if anyone knows a site that sells aftermarket armrests or modifciation kits. It's not a huge problem but an inch or so on either armrest would make a difference in getting comfortable
Thanks,
JH

Are you talking about the center console armrest? It does slide forward about 3 or 4 inches of so on its track...
As far as the steering wheel is concerned, I had the same problem with my little T-Rex reach...
It took me about 3 weeks or so to get the seat and wheel in a perfect position. I really have to sit closer to the wheel, angle the seat back and rake the lower part of the seat upwards in the front to keep from crowding the pedals. The steering wheel itself sits less than an inch above my legs when I slide in.
I just have to remember to remind the dealer and valet never to d!ck with the steering wheel setting. The memory seats always come back!!!
Hope this helps...

I'm still working on finding the right steering position. What I am really looking for is a way to put on a right (center) armrest that sits higher up that the current one and a little closer to my body. I have a Toyota SUV that has that type of arm rest and it works perfectly for me. I just don't know how easy it is to find one and have someone install it.
I did see that the '04 TL has a telescoping steering wheel
