Tanabe Pro S-S Coilovers

Derived from the Sustec Pro Street, the new Sustec Pro SS adds new adjustment features to ensure more powerful driving capabilities. The Sustec Pro SS is the perfect setup for those who want superior adjustment capabilities. The front 4 way and rear 8 way adjustable dampers are complimented by the standard helper springs to assist the driver in getting the best road feedback and traction.

This is for the 98 and up Accord and I am sure it will fit out TLs. Note the rear damper is adjustable from the side of the strut, meaning you do not have to remove the back seat everytime you want to adjust it. Price is $1343.00.

i posted this last year...i was going to get a prototype set for about $800.

didn't do it...even at its lowest setting it is extremely stiff...tanabe makes great sh!t but not for the TL.

if you're willing to pay $1400...save your pennies and get either the zeal or tein setup for a few bills more...teins rule btw.

does Tein have a coilover system for the TL yet? Or, at the very least, a set for the Inspire/Saber in Japan?

I was under the impression that teins weren't avaliable for our TL's yet. Either way when I was shopping around I was told numerous times that the Zeals would be the smoothest and softest ride avaliable, with the ability to stiffen the ride as needed because of the dampening adjustability. I guess we'll see tomorrow when they go in!!

I guess it's all about how you want the car to ride. I've had a Integra before so this time around I'm not as interested in handling and sport like I was before. However, I'm not completely numb: if a suspension setup could allow for great sport driving with a couple of small knob adjustments, then that would be swell. Hopefully I made the right investment. Either way I needed adjustable coilovers so no matter how it rides I'll still be satisfied.

BULLETIN!!!

I was checking the 2000 Catalog for Teins which didnt have an application that works for us.

But I checked the 10/2001 Price List and lo and behold Part # DSH94-KUSS2 is for the 98-01 Accord CG2. Spring Rate is 7.0K Front and 4.0K Rear. MSRP is $1000.00 It's the Type SS coilover suspension. I spoke to them to confirm.

Ewww. Mine aren't pretty or anything, but I think i'd prefer blue and silver aluminum over greeeeen.

I've never known of any details on these Teins...how will they ride? Are they more oriented towards sport or race or what? Adjustable I assume.

teins are the shiznit...they are known to feel soft compared to other coilovers but apparently their performance really make it a favorite among track racers. they have a complete line from full-race to sport.

if you want an idea of they look checkout the tein site.

Tein Website

btw...why do you care how they look unless you're gonna mount them on the outside of the tires...rotf... just playin' witcha...

I AM gonna mount them on the outside!!

I thought everyone did that. Anyways, I'm sitting here trying to take off my aluminum pillow mounts off of my Zeals so to install them on the stock mounts. I'm really wondering what difference it'll make. Obviously the stock rubber ones would ride better....but my question: to what extent? Is it really worth the hassle to take off the pillow mounts?

the top of the Zeals take a 13/16th to get it off, but I can't even get down far enough over the adjustment knob. Pissing me off....

So...to what extent would it be worth it? If at all?

replacing the stock mounts reduces the suspension play that the stock ones have...the stock mounts are like mini shock absorbers almost by nature and allow the suspension to play a little resulting in a more comfortable ride and to prevent rattling passengers' teeth...i don't think you would really need to replace them unless you wanted to go hardcore with your TL and are able to tell subtle changes in performance from changing your camber and spring/shock settings for a particular track...half the time i think people want the full system to make themselves feel like they got a fullrace setup which inspires some level of confidence...nothing left to chance

if i were you i wouldn't go through the hassle...the TL has an all-too-flexible chassis i don't care what honda says...the pain of installing the mounts to improve suspension feel is somewhat suspect in my humble opinion because of that.

Well if it's not going to make that big of a difference either way, I might as well keep the aluminum pillow mounts that came with the Zeals. Besides...Tim went to alot of bother to get Endless to ship them along with the rest of the kit.

It'll make installation easier, less of a headache for me and JLMaxR1. I guess if it turns out the ride feels too stiff for my taste even on the softest setting, I can just swap them out later.

Thanks for all the expertise, man!

whoa...now i'm confused after reading the edited version of your post.....

you think the aluminum mounts would be better or the stock rubber mounts? all I'm looking for is keeping the ride as close to stock or softer. if using the Endless mounts doesn't matter that much, than thats what i'll do to aleve installation time.

i would keep your stock mounts. but that's my opinion especially if you want to keep a comfortable ride.

sorry for the double talk...you're talking about the pain in the a$$ to take the zeal mounts off and to put the stock ones in...but my answer still stands.

There is a group buy going on at SHO, their site is currently down, for $860 if you pick it up or $890 shipped. It is both ride and height adjustable......

Ok cool....man I certainly appreciate all of your input. I'll TRY to keep the stock mounts....it all depends on how easily we can get them in.

I'll be posting updates on those bad boys probably late Sat. night.....fa sho!

Thanks again man.

The TEIN SS will be tested on the TL/CL shortly, but should fit without any problems. We have already started to carry them for the rest of the Honda/Acura lines as well as other makes. They are almost the same as the HA except for some minor changes. They are tuned for the US markets and more streetable then their JDM counterparts.

If you have any questions, email me at the address below.
