Angry Tanabe Exhaust Install !HELP!

I am having troube with the instal of my Tanabe exhaust system.
I cant find that 6 or so inch section of stainless tubing that I need to finish it.The diameter of the tube that I need is 60mm or about 2.4 inches. The dealer has my car right now. They have had my car about 4 days now. I have called just about every muffer shop in my area. I even called tanabe they were no help. I could not understand them. All of the muffer shops have english sizes 2, 2 1/4, 2 1/2 and 3 inches. They say these are all of the standard sizes. 2 1/2 is to big and 2 1/4 is to small. I did not want to change the size of the tubing or have them sleve it. The straighter the transition the better the flow. Thats what the dealer said.
Thanks in advance

I was thinking of doing that but the mechanic at the dealer said it would defeat having a free flowing exhaust. The inside wall would look something like this --------_____-------. Maybe I am alittle to anal. I did alot of research today. I think 60mm SS piping is only made in japan. Alot of exhausts are 60mm like HKS, Greddy and Tanabe. The tube that comes off of the cat is 60mm and when the tube splits it is a smaller diameter I think it is 2 1/4. I do have another question. Is this exhaust made for another car like the accord or the CL-S? Is that why it does not fit right. I am so upset about this. I wanted my car before the 4th. I guess that is not going to happen. Thanks for the reply and letting me vent a little.

No they are the hyper medallions duals. I wish I knew what I was getting into before I made this purchase. The one good thing about them. They do look good. My mechanic tucked them up nicley. I have seen pictures of them hanging low. They looked like they were falling off of the car. I dont like to see all of the mufflers. When they are tucked in it looks cleaner.

The dealer already has the new exhaust on the car. They will charge me for taking the exhaust off again and putting another one on. My wife will KILL ME. She already thinks I am nuts for replacing the stock exhaust that was not even broken. I have been look all over the internet for a 12 inch section of 60mm piping. I cant find it anywhere.I would have to buy a whole other exhaust to get a small piece of it. If anyone has a section of 60mm SS piping pm me. THANKS

You do know that the extension pipe has to overlap the Tanabe piping. There isn't no real way for a muffler shop to weld up a pipe directly on. They have to overlap them then weld up the ends. In other words, the ends of the extension pipe is made wider to overlap and the actually pipe should match up to the Tanabe pipe.

________
------________------------ <<<It more something like this...Besides your extension should only be about 4". Well I'll try to post pics.

I had no problem customizing my tanabe hyper medallions onto my car. It looks and sounds so tight. I get props for them all the time except from the "HaTeRs" o.O

the 2.5" piping is fine. I doubt it would really affect your performance that much. Exhausts on a TL is really meant for the sound and the agressive look. I was thinking of getting a pair of magnaflow catbacks for $200 installed. One hell of a deal but I am worried about the TL tranny issues and since putting on a new cat system would probably void the warranty since I can't get them off and put the stock ones back on.

Well I got my exhaust on my car. I went with the 2.5. It looks pretty good and sounds even better. It sounds like a different car.
My wife hates it. She just does not get the car thing. She wounders if I am ever going to grow up.

I also got my tires, headers and ice box installed too. Everything installed was about 600$ from the dealer. I cant hear the intake anymore the exhaust drowns everything else out. That might be because the ice box is quieter than the AEM CAI. I will post some pic's when I get my new digital camera. Thanks for the help!
