taking out wood pieces in center console

Just did this to my TL to get rid of my fake wood - really easy to do.
They just snap off - Open your center console first - then just grab on the bottom of the trim piece and pull (takes a pretty firm pull) till you pry out from the first one or two clips - then gently keep working your way to the front of the dash.
I first made mistake of using a screw driver to pry - don't do it - be careful not to scar up the plastic.

Looks great painted nickel - but you've got to make sure you match color and sheen to the shiftgate piece - None of my friends notice that it isn't factory - looks good.
If your going with carbon fiber.... you've gotta get rid of the fake wood
