Taking car to bodyshop....

Like in a previous thread, I noticed that my right rear side of my car is off. The fender, trunk and light are off including the muffler. How would a bodyshop be able to determine if its been into an accident? And also since it was Acura "Certified" ( I say this with much doubt) if it were in a previous accident, do I have a case to return the car to Acura, and blame the dealership? Any opinions on the gaps that are very noticable.....

Look at the gap between the light and the trunk and the trunk and fender...also the muffler. I suspect something isnt right.

the trunk height is adjustable (to a point) screwing in the rubber plug on the trunk lid on the passenger side, or unscrew the one on the drivers side. that should help withthe gap a little.

Also, try loosening the nuts on the brake light, hold it where you want it and tighten the nuts in a star pattern. When I put the 03 tails on my car it didn't line up perfectly it basically pulled it to the side because I tightened down one side all the way before putting any of the other nuts on.

I don't think your car's been hit, it looks pretty level... I'm looking at the whole rear end, trunk, bumper, fenders....

even if it was hit , unless it had some kinda frame damage, just a minor accident doesnt mean that they cant certify the car. only way u would have a case is if it has a bent frame or u said "was this car in an accident" and they told u no.

It's a unibody car, there's no 'frame' to damage. There might be a subframe that carries the engine (haven't looked at the Service Manual) but that's it.
