I decided to take a closer look at the service manual since according to my windshield sticker, it states that I have to go and get my car serviced at around 3,750 miles (which for me is a big deal since I drive 100 miles a day, so 3,750 miles is like an oil change every 5 weeks...ouch). Anyways, if you look on page 215 and 217 of the owners manual, you would see that there are 2 different recommended schedules for servicing. One for "normal" driving, and the other is for "severe conditions" driving (mostly for canadians). It just struck me that if noone ever reads the service manual, that people would be servicing their cars twice as much as the recommended intervals, which would mean more money for the dealers! My dealer for some reason automatically label me as a "severe conditions" driver even though I dont do any of the following:
#1 Drive less than 5 miles per trip or drive less than 10 miles per trip in freezing temteratures
#2 Drive in extremely hot conditions (over 90 degrees F)
#3 Trailer towing, driving with a roof rack, or continously drive in mountainous conditions.
#4 Drive on muddy, dusty, or de-iced roads.
Taking all these in consideration, and the fact that I live in sunny California, I don't think any of these apply to me. So, I guess I fall in the maintenance schedule for normal conditions. Why does this make me happy? Because it means no oil changes until every 7.5k miles, which then means I can afford to buy the best there is...Road Rages RedLine oil...woohoo!

Bottom line:
Every car I've ever known that has lasted 150K+ miles has had its oil changed like clockwork every 3,500 miles.
Oil changes are by far the cheapest insurance you can buy for your car. I'll happily pay the few extra hundred dollars over the life of my car to make sure the oil is clean and flowing smoothly at all times :-)

This is an every day thing in south florida....Plus I floor my car everyday. I'm in the extreme driving condition.....that means I have to change the oil every 2k miles...lol
Already pay:
$550.00 just in oil
estimated $1,000.00 in maintenace
more than $5,000 in gas
more than $4,000 in insurance
$647 monthly payments total $11,600
Mods $2,700
Total up to day = $24,850 for 18 months ownership.
I guess is worth since I gotten laid in it a couple of times
