Swirl Marks Anyone had them?
I may get in trouble for two posts but... I have a blue Type S and somehow I put swirl marks all over the car and when it's sunny out it drives me CRAZY. I've never used a buffer so I think they are from me hand waxing it or the car wash towels. The thin paint on an acura makes me real nervous about brining to a pro to have it detailed. Will a buffer remove the marks? They aren't deep but when the car is clean on a sunny day they do stick out. Anyone know a great detailer in North Jersey? Help

I had the exact same problems with my MBP CLS with swirl marks. I am extremely careful when washing & waxing, but I agree, the thin clear on the paint doens't help.
I have used Meguir's Swirl Remover with good success. I would be careful if you're not too familiar with using buffers, as you could cause more damage!
Maybe check you wash mit or drying clothes, they could be contaiminated with crap, and you don't even know.
I hope this helps and good luck!

I too have them and used the 3M swirl remover for dark cars and it worked some. The thing is you will never be able to get rid of them permanently, that is a fact with dark colored cars.

The wash towels could be the cause of the swirls.
Dark colors will show the swirls more than light color cars.
Try the Zaino products on your car also I don't know what type of towels your using on your car. Make sure to use 100% American made cotton towels. Get towels from Filedcrest or Cannon. Some others can cause swirls.

I use three wash mitts - the oldest one for the wheels, the next one from the "waist" down, and the newest one for the top of the car. Rinse well as you go and always do the wheels last!

Meguiars Scratch X works....
But only for a couple days.
Meguiars Swirl Remover works and very light clearcoat scratches. A coat of sealer/glazer or polish and then wax should work well on light scratches.
3M is great, but like the rest, it doesn't remove all of the swirls.
If you really want to get rid of some of the swirls, a professional detailer would be your last resort.
Swirls are a fact of automotive ownership. Swirls are like skin, everyone has them

Since everyone here is talking about swirl marks on their car. Another way to deter swirl marks is not getting a "FREE CAR WASH" at your dealer. They use old dirty rags to wash cars over and over.

I DON'T THINK THEY CLEANED IT @ALL, I THINK THEY MADE IT LOOKED WORST
I ONLY LET THEM WASH MINE BECAUSE I THOUGHT THEY WOULD CLEAN IT LIKE WHEN I BOUGHT IT FROM THEM. IT LOOKED SO FRESH & CLEAN ON THAT GLORIOUS DAY, I WANTED TO TAKE IT HOME & MAKE LOVE TO IT FOR HOURS, BUT I HAD TO GO STRAIGHT TO WORK
