Sway bar question ...

I'd like to install sway bars on my 2003 TL-S. Any suggestions on which brand? I checked out Comptech but I only see that they go up to 2002 TL-S models. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I just got the Comptech Swaybars installed today. So far so good. I was in the rain and have stock tires, so I didn't push it hard, but there is NO body lean on turns the way I used to feel. I also got springs too, so I don't know if that had something to do with the total feel. And yeah, I got the 2002 Acura TL Comptech Swaybars. They fit on 2003 models.

Unfortunately Comptech holds a monopoly on the sway bars. There basically no other bars to choose from. Not dissing Comptech...but it sure does suck to not have options.

They have been discontinued but some dealers may have some in stock. They are thicker than comptech.

True...but the only reason why I wouldnt even consider them as an option is because they are the exact same size as stock TLS/CLS bars (just like the smaller version of the Neuspeed bar). Their market is more for accords.

Just installed Comptechs on my TLS, and did it myself. Total time was an 1hr 45mins for both sways.

Note: Overall it was pretty easy, but note that the end links, the one contecting to the sway bar tends to spin. If you take the end links off with the sway bar be sure and note which side they came off. They are not interchangeable. Also, wrap the $hit out of the bar with the teflon tape that is provided. This really needs to be done on the rears, but won't hurt to do the front as well.

I wrapped the rears 4 times and it still rubbed through and started squeeking on me.

Sways bars connect to the underside of the suspension to limit leaning in corners

Strut bars are hooked into the shock towers to tie them together and provide better structural rigidity and turn responsiveness

Any further questions regarding the subject can be answered here...

But in retrospect, asking what is the difference between strut bars and sway bars is like asking what the difference is with exhaust headers and exhaust mufflers.

Both bars are part of the overall suspention...but offer 2 different things.

you just gotta wrap lotsa layers, and extend a coupe inches more than the bushings, and there should be less problems.
